I ate less than 20 but more than 10 cookies between yesterday and today. Did I screw myself? I NEVER eat like that. I didn't eat stuffing or anything, just a handfull of cookies. And a piece of chocolate (Shari's Berries). And Coffee (black).
Couldn't help it, but of course now I am wondering how much treatment I wasted...

I was strongly tempted by apple pie today. Oh, the crisp, sugary, buttery crust smeared with homemade whipped cream. I wanted it so badly, but miraculously refrained. Still, my mouth is watering.
My psychiatrist asks me every week if I am losing weight. I tell him I am perfectly aware of how to eat healthfully, but it is pretty damn hard to provide organic, gluten, dairy, sugar, hormone and antibiotic free meals when I am hardly capable of walking to the kitchen and standing for more than 5 minutes. As much as I would love a personal chef, housekeeper, or even a stack of ready to heat meals from whole foods, I just don't think that's financially in the cards.

I think I've eaten nothing BUT cookies for the past week. I have never noticed much of a difference when I eat well or eat some junk food. I do feel better as far as less nausea (from eating a LOT of sugar) and healthier in my mind knowing I've eaten well, but it has never really affected my Lyme disease symptoms.
I do need to get back on track. I've been doing some baking so cookies are about all I've had around. I'm not kidding when I say I've been living on them! I notice no difference in my Lyme status.

I have noticed a difference with the gluten free, dairy free and sugar free diet (although I hate to admit it). The fatigue has lifted and my energy had gone way up. (I only have a little organic butter on occasion, and recently added just a little plain yogurt, and feel good with it.) I sincerely hope this is a temporary thing and I can one day go back to the full assortment of foods I so dearly love.
Having said that..... I do have a confession.... yesterday I had 1 1/2 glasses of wine (I know, I know, but YES I did have it and I LOVED it.) Also had a little goat cheese on Mary's Gone Crackers. Oh and had 1 gluten free cookie (had some sugar) from Trader Joe's and it was a treat that I greatly enjoyed on Christmas. This morning I will be having gluten free pancakes and I will allow myself a little Maple Syrup. I have been thinking about this all week. After this, it looks like I'll get back on the wagon.

I have not given up dairy... Some have told me it has helped them, but both my Doctor and Dentist have strongly recommended to eat plenty of grass fed dairy, among other things I cannot find raw milk, but I would love to get my hands on some. You cannot get it in most states.

Sugar causes inflammation in the body (and we already have a lot from lyme), so I would probably take anti inflams like ginger, cinnamon, turmeric today, and maybe the next few days.
Lymeboy, I don't get the dairy issue. Are we not supposed to have it? I thought Burrascano allowed cheese/dairy on his protocol. I started eating cheese about two months ago to maintain my weight (helped).

Dairy (especially from cows) causes inflammation. Try a trial period without it and see what happens.
If you think about it... cows milk is suppose to be for baby cows. I've heard it said that we are the only mammals that (unwisely) consume the milk from another beast. Interesting, huh?

I know. We were all fed to drink milk under the guise of the food pyramid, which was made up of a panel with the majority having conflicts of interest in favor of the dairy industry to help them sell their product (not very many people know about it though--in a book called, China Study). Gee, this kinda sounds familiar...). I forgot it causes inflammation (my lyme brain forgets everything). Thanks Tammy. :)
