I loved rifampin, took a while to get used to it but I felt good on it, had to start mepron so I stopped rif. Will probably need to go back on at some point.

I think you mean you are going to be taking the full dose of Rifampin. The "doubling" sounds scarey.
I found the full "normal" dose once a day very helpful clearing my Bart pain and cleared my thinking.
You may be pleasantly surprised that it isn't as bad as you thought it'll be or that you heard.
Just be aware of the dark color urine...that does stain the porcelin.

I am currently on Rifampin/Minocycline. I am an abx lightweight...so when I increase dosages I go very slowly.
I increased too quickly last week with Rifampin and had my fanny handed to me, it was the worst day of my life with severe head pain and nerves flaring.
With that said, I made it through. I increase my Rifampin once per week. I am at 300mg per day of Rif and 200mg per day of Mino.
However, we all know that everyone is different when it comes to responding to these abx's.
Trust the fact that your body will handle it!! All the best to you.

I am on Cipro and Rifampin, and started full dose with both. I had a rough day 4, migraine and severe neck pain, but got through, and feel pretty good with more energy.

I just upper mine to 600mg today...the 300 treated me ok. Was on doxy for a bit but it ripped up my stomach...
Seems like I'm either neuro or gastro...when I was nauseous I wanted my neuro symptoms...now with brain mania back I want it to be clear again.
Guess I can't have it all...Haha. was a nice break from neuro symptoms though.

Chastain and Gaga, if you're not doing so, be sure to take it with food. I know the bottle says to take it an hour before meals or 2 hrs after, but that is just the manufacturers recommendation (that's what my pharmacist said). My pharmacist told me to take it and all abx with food.

I took even higher dosage.be careful as you can never jump on higher dosage you need to build up slowly .It is better to take enzymes before it so you break the biofilm and the herx efect over the infection is stronger when after that you take rifampin without food.
Your body has it easier to process it and you will feel where the bugs are hiding .I have seen they work better in empty stomak after the enzymes.
