Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get calcium without the side effects??

We recently started soy milk but I have just read some old threads on here saying that soy milk is bad??

Is it?

How else can we get calcium if milk is not allowed?

kale, collards, almonds, hazelnuts, sesame seeds including tahini

SARDINES, too.

Leafy greens for every meal of the day. Seriously. The best support there is: leafy greens.

If you eat eggs, you can clean, sterilize and powder eggshells. A tsp a day should give you plenty of Ca.

Intriguing idea.

How would I sterilize egg shells? Boil them? Bake them?

I've looked at a few links from a Google search & I see the membrane should not be washed away but I've not yet found the sterilization part. Some people seem to skip that. I would not.

I just put them in the oven for 45 minutes or so at 350 F. If you prefer to boil them, that should work too.

How about almond milk? Some brands have 50% more calcium than cow's milk. The taste is pretty mild. It's barely a noticeable difference.

I have also read that it's best to avoid soy because it suppresses the immune system.
