I'm having a lot of trouble digesting my food, I know it's either related to these infections or treatment, my LLMD didn't really have any suggestions. When I take a bite it seems it takes forever to go down, I think my stomach isn't emptying quick enough so the food sits around and I end up getting reflux.
I've never tried digestive enzymes, I've heard a lot of good stories with the natural methods (ie: papaya capsules?) vs. pharmaceuticals. Thanks.

I LOVE Bromelain.
I use Pure Encapsulations 500mg before breakfast and lunch, and 1000mg before dinner.

Thorne Bio-gest. It was life-changing for me ... so much so that my husband won't take me out to eat unless it's in my purse.

My absolute favorite enzyme product was discontinued by the manufacturer...
Then I found another enzyme product I really really liked, and shortly after, it was also discontinued by the manufacture!
I've had this happen with foods, too... I think they have hidden cameras that note what I buy and then target those things to be discontinued...LOL!
But anyway, what I'm using now is the following:
Country Life MaxiZyme - good comprehensive enzyme for those who can't/don't want to take HCl or animal-derived enzyme products (ox bile, pancreatin extract, etc.).
Enzymedica Acid Soothe - herbal enzyme supplement that is safe for those with stomach ulcers & gastritis.
I take two capsules of each right before each meal and it helps a lot with the fullness and indigestion stuff.
I also find probiotics helpful for combating indigestion. I take Jarrow Jarro-Dophilus Allergen-Free (gluten/dairy free), and love it...it doesn't constipate me like so many other probiotics do!
Domperidone also helps with stomach-emptying. It is a prescription medication but not FDA-approved, so you have to get it from Canada or somewhere else outside the US (PM me if you want to know where I get mine), or you can get it from a compounding pharmacy. I take 20mg about 15 minutes before eating.

Hi all, I'm so cognitively challenged that even reading these wonderful posts is difficult. Thks for all the great suggestions, I do recall I tried some kind of HCL a while ago and it gave me terrible gas.. I think also a pancreatic enzyme.
I like the idea of a 'broad spectrum' enzyme, and Pure Encap. is good quality brand. I know there was a post on PE recently, will have to look that up since I don't know any practitioners who sell it.
Haha Razzle, I've had that-loved a supp just to have it yanked! I'll have to figure out what I can order on the internet.. thanks again everyone. Very helpful.

American Health Chewable Original Papaya Enzyme $10.49 for 250 tabs
BF likes to woof down meat, then complains he is "hot" and feels sleepy. (I figured out it was because his stomach can't make enough "extra" digestive enzymes quickly enough to handle a high protein/fat meal.)
Chewing on one or two these gives him quick relief every time.
