I have been wondering a lot about detox lately.
I feel like at this point in the game it is imperative. I am also realizing that a natural ability to detox may be why some people don't get sick much and others do. I look specifically at my husband, he sweats a ton, has a relatively high body temperature, always has a fever if he gets sick and then is fine, but rarely gets sick.
I do not sweat. I tried an infrared sauna......it took about 40 minutes to start to break a sweat. I know some people can't tolerate 5 minutes. How long does it take to sweat for most?
Bought a biomat mini because I thought it would be more convenient. I think it helps but it takes a long time on a very high temperature to start to sweat. I think I should have gotten the full size though. I think it would be more effective, but it is too expensive and I am not working much lately
I also runlow 96 for body temperature. I really think that increasing my temp will help immensely with detoxing and fighting this illness.
I don't want to take any other supplements at this point. What do you guys do to detox that doesn't involve taking another oral supplement?
Thanks!

I had the same issue my doc put a dot on my arm of Iodine (easiest test yet) and discovered I was very low in iodine. Once I started an iodine supplement once a day I sweat like crazy in my sauna

How did that indicate that your iodine was low? Very interesting.
Do you fee, like once you started sweating it helped you detox?
Did you lose weight?

An inability to sweat is not uncommon in lyme and co-infection patients. Some people are able to start sweating with treatment for TBE's (tick borne infections). Some ppl have stated that they start sweating after using the sauna for awhile. I started sweating again after years of not sweating once babesia was treated.
A low body temp is another common sympton. Mine runs as low as 96.2. The autonomic nervous system is often affected which includes body temperature control.

I have the non-sweating issue also. Have been taking iodine for some time. Still no sweating. Although I don't use a sauna. I feel like I am too dehydrated and don't have extra fluid to spare.
I would LOVE to sweat.
Other detox thoughts that don't require more supps: Dry skin brushing Rebounder
These really get the lymph system going.

Forgot to mention that I was on iodine for several years and it did not help me sweat.
I can see where iodine might help some depending on the cause of the anhidrosis (inabilit to sweat).

I go to a naturopath and he just had me do a metal toxicity test to check for that because apparently high levels of metal can lead you to not sweat.

Even when I don't go to the sauna for a while then return, I notice I sweat less like my body has forgotten how to sweat.
It's like we have to train our bodies to sweat
