Ive started supplemening with HCL

it feels like its definatly working. my stomach (upper GI) feels alot more settled. and im not getting that belchy burpy thing after eating when I take it

i started taking it yesterday . Theres about 925 mg of betaine hcl in two capsules. i started out taking 2 with lunch and 2 with a snack around 6:30 pm yesterday.

then for dinner at around 8 i decided to see how 4 felt. since I didnt get the warm feeling yet from the two

within a few hours after taking the four my area around my belly button was soooo SORE and burny. my stomach area felt fine. no burping or gurgling or acid reflux. but my lower abdomen around my belly button felt sooooo SORE!

why is this? Is the HCL making my stomach better but my lower GI worse? I also felt very tired after taking it. As if I was havinga herx. can it make me herx? ive read it kills alot of bacteria

im very confused. I want to continue taking it but I dont want to have lower GI discomfort. Ive read alot of people take 4 capsules with meals so its not that out of the ordinary. I didnt take too much...RIGHT? ugh

so confused I appreciate some insight thanks!

If you have ulcers or colitis the acid can be bad

I can't tolerate HCL. I will never take that again, just too much acid for my stomach. I'm not sure it's meant for everyone.

You started this product just yesterday with four capsules. That's a tremendous amount early on.

Most often, those with lyme are very sensitive and highly reactive to the normal dose right off the bat. It's best to start with just one capsule, or one drop of whatever it is to see how it's going to work for us.

If I were you, I'd stop it for a few days or a week and try again with ONE capsule a day for a week and, if all goes well, increase by just ONE capsule a week, to optimum dose for YOUR body, not what the label says (but do not go over that, of course).

Systemic enzymes may work better for your stomach. Like Wobenzyme.

Are you gluten-free and dairy-free? As that usually helps GI troubles.
