I am trying to determine if I have had this disease since my late teens/early twenties and therefore if I passed it to my daughters.

My syptoms before I was knowingly infected
were

1. asthma (age 18)
2. mono (age 18)
3. neck to toe whole body rashe (19-22), treated with multiple rounds of prendisone with severe rebound whenever I stopped.
4. Ulcers/major GI issues (23-24)
5. Infertility "unexplained" for 8 years
6. Food allergies/sensitivities
7. latex allergy
8. sinus issues/polyps
9. colon polyps after my first successful pregnancy
10. Massive post partum depression and incredible fatigue after my first pregnancy.

So all "autoimmune type things..

THEN I was bitten and the rest is history.

I am wondering if I responded so severely neurologically to the bite because I had been infected previously. Is this what happens.

Dealing with this will help me to really see clearly how to help my youngest daughter.

My first born daughter was born with milk allergy and was colicky for 9 months.

Second born was a whole 'nother story.........
and I have posted a bit about her recently.

So...do a lot of you figure that you were previously unknowingly infected? Then did you react severely to any subsequent TBIs?
Thanks

Frankly, the neck to toe body rash sounds like a Lyme/Coinfection symptom. Were you living in a Lyme endemic area at that time? Many people are unaware of tick bites and only about 30% ever get any rash.

Lyme does compromise fertility, and is known to cause miscarriages. Dr. H says symptoms can flare with hormonal shifts (around time of menses).

Have your kids been tested yet?

I went to college in the poconos and during my first month there I got diagnosed with labyrinthitis because nothing else really seemed to fit.

I never fully recovered from it, and then got infected (without a doubt) by a tick two years later. I always wondered if the labyrinthitis was caused by lyme or co's, because I could never figure out why a super healthy 21 year old college student would suddenly develop an unexplained case of labyrinthitis....

Yes, bit by ticks in New England and had horrible illness at age 11 from which I never recovered. Laundry list of diagnoses/symptoms until bit again at age 30 when I got a rash. We believe I gave it to my children. All have health issues.

It took 20 years to find out I'm not crazy.
New bite in 2010 pushed my body over the edge. Positive for lyme, babs, bart, and myco.
I am not a doctor and happily offer only my own opinions.

One kid tested, but they only did screen which was negative, but child does have a few other warning signs like low WBC and D, but haven't pushed yet. Our plan is to get me better first because I was nearly n0n-functional. The child is getting along for the most part right now. Others need testing. Especially youngest--has rage episodes that are just not right for the age.
