Recap: I first became really ill 3 years ago this month. Don't know when I was bitten for sure, but most likely 1st time, more than 15 years earlier.

1st 2 years, oral abx and various supplements. 1 year ago, finally began treatment with one of the top 5 llmd's and began lots of abx and IM Bicillin.

After a year with this doc, I am doing very well but still have flares - ups and down, but still, a million times better, esp brain fog!

treatment continues...

I finally decided to watch UOS - it broke through my denial and really got me questioning a lot of things. In the past couple of weeks, I've come across various articles about natural medicine, illness, our toxic planet, etc.

All leading up to this:

I am deeply questioning why I got sick and had the symptoms I've had. I am beginning to believe that it was a combination of factors that presented: "the perfect storm."

I am questioning whether it was as simple as being exposed the lyme and co infections.

Here is the perfect storm: Was fed nothing but junkfood for the 1st 16 years of childhood (burgers, donuts, cola, candy), then, became anorexic and bulemic through adolescence, experienced horrific abuse through my entire childhood, (I did begin healing in my 20's)

So, malnurished through my whole childhood, trauma built up in my body, toxins built up from our toxic planet, and then, exposed to lyme infections.

It's really, really hitting me that to get over the next hurdle and to maintain a balanced, healthy life going forward, I will need to address all aspects of myself

mind, body, emotions, and spirit

mind, body, emotions, and spirit

The right Abx are only a part of the picture...a vital part, for sure, but only a part.

I am already leading a healthy life and have worked through a lot of my childhood trauma, but, because of circumstances beyond my control that interrupted my healing process, I still ahve a tremendous amount of emotional healing to do - still tons of trauma held in my tissues.

With this deepened understanding, I am taking things to another level really again focusing on all aspects of myself: excellent nutrition, the right exercise, meditation, yoga, play, therapy, body work therapy, acupuncture, and continuing care with an ND and LLMD.

I feel also an even deeper committment to save our planet and do bring awareness of lyme as much as I can.

So much brought into focus.

I think I will look into reading the new lyme story of healing, too. I personally dislike how much this person charges to help guide other lyme victims, but would like to read about the journey of healing.

Okay, here we go!

Hi Supergirl,

I have been thinking the exact same thing lately. It seems there is much more to healing than just antibiotics.

I too, had tremendous stress for years before I got sick. I truly believe that lowered my immune system and created an ideal situation for Lyme to thrive.

I think you sound right on with the emotional healing, and believe that will help in so many ways.

I truly believe that our bodies can heal.

Wishing you continued healing, so happy to hear that you are doing much better.

Thank you for writing this. When my husband got sick he was under a HUGE amount of pressure and back then I thought that his immune system was just under attack. Now that he is so sick, I find that I can't get him to eat well because he doesn't feel like eating. He was once very concientious(sp?) about his food, but today he ate nothing but popcorn and a glass of milk. I'm loosing my mind trying to get him to eat right. I raise chickens and our house is pretty much chemical free, but he won't eat what I put in front of him and now I've lost interest in cooking because he won't eat it anyway. You've inspired me to re=evaluate my attitude and get back on the band wagon. Thanks.

birdie67 - thank you so much for the good wished and validation - may we all heal ourselves and our planet

cluck - I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. when I was at my sickest, the only foods that didn't make me nauseous were carbs: sugars, chips, etc. The infections had just taken over and were demanding food or else! I feel for you both. I wonder if it would be possible to perhaps put nutritious food into a tasty blended drink? I have the Ninja from BB and Beyond and it makes scrumptious veggie/fruit smoothies!

I mean, even if you were able to get a couple stalks of brocolli in there, it's better than none. That's one of the hard things about the infectin taking over: craving for carbs which just fuels the infection.

there is hope! I am here as a testament to that

I am soooo much better and live a pretty normal life at this point

warmly

Yes, you have to look at the WHOLE picture. That is what I work on now that I'm well ... rebuilding a new body, different from the one that got sick.

Look into EFT/tapping for the emotional trauma, it helped me tons.

thank you for the suggestions! I appreciate it.

I've found that good ole emotional release/abreactive healing works best for me with trauma - with the right therapist, of course. But, I do know about EFT and believe it could be a great adjunct. among many other things!

love those words you wrote: "now that I'm well"

lovely!

Thank you for your post, Supergirl. Something similar is happening here -- deep examination of emotional and spiritual aspects -- and the result is....beginnings of physical healing!! We still need herbs, homeopathy, meds, etc, but introspection with skilled therapists probably marked the turning point.
