Holy smokes, whatever I have flaring back up apparently comes with ridiculous anxiety for no good reason. I'm so wound up my hands are starting to shake!

I know this has been mentioned in posts before, I guess I should go search through them and see if there's any indication of which infection is messing with my head now... Ugh.

Be sure none of your supplements contains any added glutamine, L-glutamine, glutamic acid or glutamate.

Also be sure you've not consumed any MSG by mistake. If so, MAGNESIUM is the "antidote"

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=029690;p=0

Excitotoxins; MSG; Aspartame; & "Natural" Flavors

1/4 of the way down, see the post:

Caution: Aspartate; Glutamine; and Phenylalanine

===========================

Have you been getting enough magnesium, fish oil, protein and good fats?

Are you also getting enough carbohydrates? This is essential if there is any kind of porphyhria.

Porphyria (elevated toxic porphyrins) can trigger severe toxic anxiety. In emergency, even just the (usually shunned table sugar) can save a life. Details in the liver links below.

Hope this gets better soon.

LIVER SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too.

I don't think I have any invisible tremors - can't see any! [Smile] OK, bad joke...

Lets see, fish oil, check. Magnesium - don't know. Diet - I've never been stellar at that, but not horrendous either.

I did indulge in a cookie last night at the school Halloween Party, but the anxiety has been more than just today. This morning was just particularly bad.

I'm not quite so bad now - mostly just really, really tired at the moment. I guess all that anxiety just drained the energy. I also did some stuff outside, which usually helps my mental status in general.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll look into the various possible explanations.

Might that cookie have contained aspartame or other artificial sweetener? If so, that could explain the high anxiety.

If you know who baked it, you might just call and ask about their recipe, not accusing but just curious.

Sadly, the best rule for us is to just never eat at a Pot Luck as it's so hard to know what is in the food. MSG aka "natural flavors" abound and can be like rocket fuel.

Magnesium. You say you don't know (if you have any?) . . . that is the very best "antidote" for anxiety, along with fish oil. If you don't have any, see if you can have someone get some for you today. It's really important to get that into your body now.

A foot soak in warm water with epsom salts should help, too. Or a warm bath (not hot). Soothe.

ADRENAL exhaustion can also be the reason for this, especially after last night's activity. Adrenal support and aggressive REST should help, too. B-6 and P5P.

Good luck.

Hi,

Organic pepermint and B-complex should help. Have you treated for parasites?

I've got some epsom salts, a warm bath sounds nice. I don't have any supplements for magnesium though.

As for the cookie - I baked it. [Smile] I figured I'd have one of the ones I baked for the bake sale, because I did know exactly what went into them.

I have not treated for parasites yet.

(How does one rest aggressively? sounds couterproductive [Smile] ) I DID just wake up from a much needed nap. [Smile] I feel chilled however, despite the fleece blanket... making that bath sound even better. Ooo, peppermint... I might have some of that.

"Aggressive" rest? Yeah, not quite the best turn of a phrase but thinking of the parent - child dynamic in that when I really don't want to rest, my "parent" is firm, even stern: rest is non-negotiable.

Perhaps there is a better way to say that. Not just collapsing because that's all that can be done but thinking it out, pacing, doing so BEFORE the body turns to mush, etc.

MINDFUL REST ? DETERMINED REST ?

wendy,

check the symptom list for parasites at Humaworm. Anxiety is on the symptom list. I can tell you first hand that it was for me until I got rid of them.

I agree with Gael about the likely cause. My idea is just usually about how to make it through the night.

Along with parasites, though, any infection that adds to toxicity can fuel anxiety. Support the liver and kidneys, no matter what other action you take.

And, while a full moon has never affected me (I love, love, love it) the tides and moon can have some pull.

The approaching storm can also be a stress on adrenals and frayed nerves - due to the sharp pressure changes in the atmosphere.

Take it easy, everyone. Hunker down. Go for cozy.

I think yeast/candida causes anxiety for me to some degree. I have read this as a symptoms also. Although, I accept the parasite theory as well. Could be both too [Frown]

I'm hunkered, I'm cozy, have magnesium now, diflucan, nothing for parasites yet though. Housework is nearly complete, and I'm going to spend the evening doing some nice, relaxing jewelry-making with a friend. Now I just have to wait for this storm to get past - I've always gotten a bit dizzy with approaching storms, and this is no exception.

I have to say though, that since I've also got the new issues with painful quad muscles, and my headache has shifted to the top of my head for the first time, and my wrists and finger joints are very unhappy, etc., I'm starting to worry that I didn't get all the babesia back in May...
