According to the STTM website, most men need higher amounts of HC, around 35-45mg... Is this still okay for someone with lyme / co ?

I tryed it for some days, bodytemperature was better, bp was better on it. But still not good enough. I was also afraid it would make lyme worse.

I know most lymies take 10/10 but this may be not enough for me.

Here's a calculator so you can punch in the milligrams of Hydrocortisone (or other steroid) and find out how much Cortisol (or other steroid) to which that equates.

http://www.medcalc.com/steroid.html

I was told that the body makes the equiv. of about 5mg of Prednisone daily in the form of Cortisol.

5mg Prednisone = 20mg Hydrocortisone.

I am taking HC and T3&T4 for thyroids and working toward the right temperature and energy, keeping increasing dose, up to 22.5 mg daily of HC. I feel like I'm getting close to some upper limit, and have asked how would we know if it's too much. He suggested the saliva tests that show the levels are the best judge, meaning, if you're taking some to get you to the right temp and energy, and the saliva test shows you are within the range of "normal" cortisol levels, then it's not "too much" (in terms of the immune suppression we worry about with lyme).

I'm not sure I'm sold on this, and am still concerned, but just sharing what I heard from my doc on this. 35-45mg daily sounds higher than my doc has ever suggested taking, so I'd suggest be careful, but don't really know the answer to your question.

My doctor says our bodies make about 30mg of cortisol daily ... so taking 30mg is fine.

I take 10mg per day.
