Pharmacy benefits management company for my insurance will not pay for tinidazole anymore. Generic made in India and not available in the U.S. I don't want to take flagyl because of side effects.
So, has anyone had tinidazole compounded? If so, how does it compare in cost to the brand name? It is the cost of the brand that it is causing this refusal. I had no idea how expensive this drug was.

I took compounded Tinidazole a few years ago. At the time I believe it cost about $63.00 or so for a month.

Thank you. Maybe I should be contacting compounding pharms and ask if they do it.

I think that is a good idea. Call a few and check prices. I had to get mine from an out-of-state pharmacy.
