I am wondering if anyone has experience a pain in the jaw that felt like a toothache while on Flagyl. I didn't sleep last night because the pain was so bad. It was relieved by not putting any pressure from my upper jaw, meaning trying to sleep with my mouth open. It might simply be a toothache. I don't know. Not sure if I should take the Flagyl this morning. I also take Biaxin.

I have pain in upper and lower mouth - feels like tooth ache but I can't have that many cavities at once.

It goes away when tini pulse is done...but comes back when I go back on....

I had horrendous pain in the jaw for months before I was diagnosed. My dentist did 2 root canals trying to stop the pain! I was sent to an oral surgeon who said it was due to "inflammation." I lived on narcotic pain killers and anti-inflammatories for many months. It finally went away when the weather got warm.

Please know that this is a lyme symptom and don't go the dental route like I did.

See page 10 of Burrascano. You will see it in the list of lyme symptoms:

Dental pain

At least you are only getting it periodically. I wanted my head cut off, I suffered with this so badly. No particular tooth hurt. Rather, it felt like it was in the jaw. I ultimately felt like liquid fire flowing down the jaw--a horrible burning pain.

So, all of these types of dental pain are possible with lyme. Wet and cold days made it worse.

Keep taking the flagyl. It is killing lyme in your jaw--one of lyme's favorite places. Do as much detoxifying as you can to try to lessen the herx.

Take the max allowed of Advil on those days and/or take a narcotic pain killer so you can sleep.
