Is overall itching more likely allergy reaction to abx or does anyone experience this as a herx? This seems to always happen to me on second or third dose of an abx.

My first herx was horrific itching that worsened after a hot shower. Had to put ice packs on me to calm it down. In my case it was definitely a die-off reaction as the spirochetes in my skin were killed off.
For weeks I could only take tepid showers and no soap - only Aveeno. No brisk towelling off, only blotting. Even with that I was in agony for a good hour. This went on for a few weeks, then subsided.
Itching has mostly disappeared now after 5 years!!!! of treatment.
So I say itching is a herx, unless there are other indications of an allergic reaction: hives, throat closing up, etc.
Ice packs work.
