From your other post I saw that Dr. K was speaking on this topic (he never ceases to amaze me on his dedication to learning new treatments, then spreading the word). Thanks for your post.

I just googled the term Therapeutic Apheresis. Looks like a great therapy. It is something that the Red Cross does. Very cool.

Here is a link for a 1st annual conference that was recently held in San Diego: http://cme.ucsd.edu/apheresis/.

I'd like to find a practitioner and give this a try. It seems especially appealing on the auto-immunity front to me.

This is a copy of one of the www.inus.de Apheresis power points Dr. K. showed at the lecture.

Filtration Apheresis for MCS /CFIDS MCS/CFIDS are cliinical entities of an immunological disturbance caused by environmental toxins and biotoxins from chronic infections

 toxic metals
 polychlorierte Biphenyls
 solvents (Benzol/Benzene derivatives etc.)
 dust and fine particles
 Bacterial and viral toxins

All of the above derail the immunesystem and lead to chronic deregulated inflammation

WE ARE VERY TOXIC AND LYME IS A PART OF IT.

GiGi-

Thank you so much for sharing this info. with the group.

Sustained abx and anti-malarial medications have gotten me out of bed, and now, various herbal and immune-building supplements have started to help me get my life back. Atop of this, I am newly tackling my heavy metals issue, and will be revisiting my past (but brief) treatment for parasites.

It is clear that an open-minded and most educated approach are what will be needed to help me fully turn the corner, and then, finally, put these diseases behind me (for good)!

For this reason, wisdom like yours on LymeNet is greatly appreciated!

Thanks again, and best to you in your healing journey!

Told you...

Told you I was sick, I am glad you are using past time! Glad you are moving along. I treated parasites with all that was known in 1999 and thereabouts, but never managed to get rid of all metals. The two of them go hand in hand. Don't be in a hurry - it really takes time. Dr. K. told me the other day to give it another six
months!! Maybe I will, maybe I won't.

I have certainly figured out that if you are getting lucky at one end, the feet, they are heading for the other end, the head, etc. They only want to survive making sure they don't kill us in the interim, so they will not lose their cozy home.

With patience, we will succeed, as long as we don't make this our sickness - our possession.
I planted a few flowers today!

Do you ever talk to those on this Forum by phone? I see that you don't have a private message feature, set, but would really love to speak with you some time (if you're willing).

I am seeing a highly regarded LLMD where I am, but, it is still clear that there are things that this physician isn't hitting upon...and I clearly have a ways to go before I am better. Your vast knowledge is impressive, and I would appreciate learning more from you and your journey.

Might you send me a PM to discuss the possibility of connecting with you? I would be more than happy answering questions about myself (i.e. age, symptoms, past treatment) if it should help matters in our establishing contact. I actually have a sibling that lives in your State; unfortunately, it is not feasible for me to travel/stay with them in order to see someone of the mindset of Dr. K (who you speak so highly of).

Thank you, in advance, for getting back to me about this (if possible).

Best to you,
Told you...

Which power point are you referring to, H.?

Told you I was sick, you can send me a mail via
[email protected] I do not have the PM feature and therefore cannot send a PM. I have talked with many people over the years.

Take care.

Here is a portion of the Apheresis information, first in German then followed by English translation of the different paragraphs.

This is a well known Borreliose Center (Lyme Center) and Rehab Center in Germany. I don't know about the rest of the therapies available, but the Apheresis seems to be covered by most health insurances.

"The Therapeutic Apheresis

The therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an innovative component of the concept of our day clinic.

The current form of treatment is a special form of high-tech plasma cleaning and immunomodulation in chronic and acute diseases of the metabolism and the immune system (so-called autoimmune diseases) dar.

The plasma cleaning, also called plasmapheresis (separate from the Greek apherein =) helps the body of harmful proteins and metabolic products (eg, cholesterol, and many others) or tox. Stoffen (sog.

Substances (so-called para-proteins, tumor-associated proteins, circulating immune complexes, complex infectious toxins, Pathoproteine, haptens) to liberate and bring the deregulated metabolism / the inflammatory cascade and the immune system back to its natural balance back (sog.Stoffwechsel / immunomodulation). Apheresis produces no plasma exchange does not result in any significant loss of electrolytes or immune bodies, but represents a gentle process which is very well tolerated and no strain on the body.

It is applied in environmental pollution, diseases of the rheumatic diseases, lipid disorders, Chronic inflammation state after infection diseases (eg Lyme disease) and autoimmune diseases."

Sounds interesting. My question is - how about pathogens in parts of the body outside of the blood in tissue, bone, organs, etc.?

FYI -

http://www.hemacare.com/therapeutic_apheresis_faq.asp

The patient is connected to a blood cell separator machine via a vein or catheter. Whole blood is removed from the patient and separated into its components by a centrifugation process. After the separation, the unwanted component is discarded and the remaining components are reinfused back into the patient.

This procedure requires two needles to be inserted into the veins, one in each arm; however, in patients with small or inadequate veins, it may be necessary to insert a special catheter into the large veins in the neck, under the collarbone or in the groin area to allow adequate blood flow for the procedure.

Is this the same procedure that is sometimes used on patients with Guillain Barre? If so, this makes total sense to me b/c some of my Lyme symptoms looked like Gullain Barre at one point.

Please get together and share the $44 that is needed to listen to the conference put on to benefit sick children and hear Dr. H and several other Dr K trained people and, at the end, Dr. K. himself presenting the whole story on the type of apheresis that is done right now in some countries. The apheresis that he himself had done because he has/had Lyme.

I posted the announcement for the seminar here well before it happened, but as usual it was moved to General where hardly anyone saw it.
I never post anything that fits "General".

One of you can record the sound and share it with others. I am a computer nerd plus am tired of being ripped apart because of what I post.

The most important aspect of aspheresis is the filters that are used and it is explained in detail in Dr. K.'s presentation.

I am not ruling anything out - I assumed that you had followed the apheresis idea discussed around the same time of your post, and that of course reminds one of bloodletting, etc. etc. even though in this method nothing is lost but the stuff we should not have in our body to begin with. We keep our blood and nothing is added or replaced.

They use different filters for different toxins and debris. The questionnaire I have filled out and sent to Germany is quite extensive because they want to catch all possible past exposures.

Was the little old lady next door spraying her flower beds, etc.? (not in these words, of course). And the list that I saw of what comes out of people is amazing. We are one toxic bunch.

(I posted this on another thread. But I include some info on apheresis that is worthwhile)

My question would be how often one would have to have the spheresis performed? We are around so many toxins daily. My neighbors just sprayed for dandelions (something I refuse to do).

I sure do understand we need to get rid of current toxins, but it seems like we will just load up again.

(posted on another thread, too)

All this information is very well spelled out in the seminar lecture with link that I have posted. You can hear it from the horse's mouth and all is pretty well answered and displayed in a power point. I cannot repeat every single word of a long lecture because especially with you it only leads to misunderstandings followed by more misunderstandings.

Sorry.

I heard from someone who went there and took that treatment, and it gave her so much energy, it works very well. One has to have some rounds?
Sounds like it detoxes instantly
She took it because she also was pregnant and did not want to do all the antibiotics
