I know bactrim is used for bart but does anyone know if it's also used for lyme or babesia? If so, what is it usually combined with? Thanks

Just be aware that if you get any kind of rash while on Bactrim, stop immediately! The rash can even develop after you've been on it for months.
Before I developed this reaction, I do think it helped me though.

I took Bactrim for years. No problem. Then one day I took it and turned red from top to bottom. Ended up in the hospital. IV in one arm BP in the other arm and put on oxygen. I guess any thing you take can back fire on you.

Bactrim brought me back to life....and if i miss a dose, i get enourmous head pressure and tightening of shoulders and upper back..so much that it becomes hard to walk. Doxy does not help this. I wish i knew what exactly the bactrim was helping.
Llmd says it is not lyme...bc i backslide too quicky ( one day ) with missed abx and lyme is slow growing.
My herx with it was rough and ugly. At the time i was taking it for a dental infection..but looking back i see that i herxed. My face turned almost yellow and i ended up in ER with migraine and head jerking. Oh, also had increased air hunger. Once i evened out...now, i cant go without it.

Also be aware that symptoms such as chills and fever can indicate a reaction to Bactrim.
2 weeks after starting Bactrim DS, I developed chills and fever, then loss of appetite and severe fatigue.
I thought I was herxing.
At the 3 week mark, I became jaundiced and ended up in the ER. I had severely elevated liver and pancreatic enzymes which took 3 months to return to normal.
I had lots of tests done and nothing else was found, so I am sure it was the Bactrim that caused it.
