I have come a long way in treatment to about 85% better. One symptom that has never gotten better is feeling hot and sweating all day long. I am hot all night but I don't really get night sweats. But I am drenched in my armpits all day and very heat intolerant.
If this symptom went away I would be thrilled!!! Does anyone know how to make this go away? It is not my hormones/thyroid ect... it is something infection/parasite/metal related.
I am being tested for brucella which I actually pray is the answer because at this point I just want an answer. I've read that B. Duncani doesn't cause drenching sweats typically. Maybe Bartonella could although I've treated but never been officially diagnosed.
I've had them for 4 years and I literally cannot stand it anymore. I can't do anything without being drenched.

I have had drenching fevers at night and so much so, I got an atypical staff infection in a sweat gland in my armpit and had to have it lanced. YUCK! I felt better after treating several times for Bartonella and I used Byron White's A-Bart tincture. My understanding is that babesia and bartonella can cause sweats. They both inhabit the red cell and the body responds by elevating your fever. It could also be another infectious agent.

Are you sure it's not hormonal? I don't get hot flashes, but am hot all day if I forget to take my estriol.

Thanks otterJ! I wonder if its Bart sometimes. Sorry you experience this also. I never really seem to have a fever though. Just sooo hot and sweaty, it makes me feel weak and faint sometimes.
Lymetoo- yes, positive it's not hormones because its all day everyday and I've had my hormones tested.

It's hard to know for sure. The co infections can overlap and cause some of the same symptoms. I used to constantly sweat under my arms all the time. I think that was a hormone thing. Then it just stopped one day. I am also heat intolerant.
Now I have mild sweats at night. It's either babs, parasites or protomyxzoa. Almost all of my other babs symptoms have gone though.

Catgirl-my other babs symptoms are gone mostly as well. Although, I have random flares of dizziness around my menstrual cycle lately.
Sammi-How were you able to completely eradicate babs? I've treated it twice now with Mepron/zith/art

A change in diet might help a little.
I went through a bout where I had constant hot flashes (not hormonal either).
I was in my 20s and first everyone would say hormones, then they'd stop themselves and say I'm too young for that (referring to menopause).
No hormonal issues at all. The heat would drive me crazy.
A practitioner suggested a Pitta Pacifying diet.
It actually helped.
You might want to try a modified version (since it promotes dairy and grains, unless you're okay with those).
I cut out stuff like onions, tomatoes and spices (even pepper). Anything heating like hot peppers were out. No night shades.
I drank a lot of mint tea, ate cucumbers, celery, lean chicken, etc...
It's worth a try if all else fails. It can't hurt.

It would be really nice to get rid of the sweats. One day I thought it was raining, and then realized the sweat was dripping off my hair onto my neck. Disgusting.
Today I took my garbage to the bin, and while in the elevator talking to my neighbours I was wiping sweat from my brow and neck. It's ridiculous. It's 18 degrees C here and has been raining all day, so taking the garbage out in a swimsuit isn't an option.
So when you're armpits are sweaty and your clothes are sticking to your back, just know you're not alone. There's a fellow sweat-machine in Vancouver who would just ignore your sweatiness and look the other way if you needed to mop your brow Thank goodness we can type and sweat in the privacy of our home. drip....drip...drip...Posts: 4358 | From British Columbia, Canada | Registered: Jun 2013

Jammers, that may be a hypoglycemia thing. When I used to have periods, I remember that I was always weak and starving just before. And babs patients typically have low iron.
Too funny Greta (sweat machine, drip...drip..)!

Here I was thinking I was just a hot mama what with all my sweating and being hot all the time.
Seriously, this is a problem for me too so I appreciate the post and the replies. I'd like my pits to not smell like I've been digging ditches all day. Ugh.

Thank you everyone for the information. I am not entirely sure at this point if is Babs or not. I have had a reaction to anti-parasitics but I don't know what it is hitting exactly. All I know is the vibrating, heat intolerance, eye floaters and sweats are terrible. Most of my other symptoms are gone.

katiebobatie, I think you will like the towel. It helps me a lot! You can get a "Lyme" green one!

Sammi, I recently purchased one of those cooling towels but I'm having problems with it. Specifically, how to store it when I'm not using it.
If I let it dry completely, it gets stiff & hard as a rock. Can't be bent or folded at all.
If I store it while it is still damp it gets mildew. Yuck!
What do you do with yours when you aren't using it?

Hi MamaBear11.
It does get hard when it dries out! I have been using mine a lot, so it has not needed to be stored yet. I wash it and hang it over the tub to dry. Maybe try folding it when it is almost dry but still somewhat pliable.
