I think I read that somewhere on here. Does anyone have clear documentation on this?
My doc is giving me multi-minerals to help from depletion with chelation, but I'm wondering if this is a waste.

- They need to be balanced, in a certain ratio. But if someone is deficient in one moreso than the other, their ratio needs be altered for that person.
Those with neurotoxicity issues (as lyme brings) probably also require more magnesium because the toxicity sort of "uses it all up" in a manner of speaking.

I'm asking about consuming them simultaneously.

- The articles explain all that in detail, too. Others may have quick answers but it's best to read from a couple difference sources for how this all works. Too complex for me to put into my own words.
Generally, in a formula at the basic RDA levels, they are balanced and they should not compete any more than when our foods. But there are some things to consider that the researchers address in the articles. -

- Other than from good food, I am trying to get all my minerals & vitamin supplementation from greens powders like spirulina, chlorella, cilantro, gotu kola, stinging nettle leaf . . . and (not green but red) hibiscis flowers.
Figure I can hit many birds with one stone that way, all kinds of nutrients power packed together.
Chlorella and Cilantro are especially helpful at heavy metal support. The other powders I use helpful in other ways.
And for a Cilantro tincture: Herb Pharm -

- Backing up, you say that your doctor is giving you a "multi-minerals to help from depletion with chelation"
I'm not sure what you are asking but 2 things occur to me.
1. If this is the same doctor guiding your chelation, he should know what he's doing and the timing of it all. Indeed, chelation can strip one of some vital nutrients so, yes, you need supplementation or from concentrated food sources.
2. Timing is everything (as mentioned above). You would not take the vitamins/mineral at the same time as chelation - and maybe not even the same day.
3. IF you get vitamins/minerals from something like chlorella you run less risk of nutrient deplition, IMO, as it can help nourish while also helping to decrease some heavy metals. -

I've done plenty of chlorella, I'm not interested in that at the moment.
Cilantro is not to be toyed with. It is a metals mobilizer and if you don't know what you are doing you can do more harm than good.
I was simply asking about magnesium and calcium competing for absorption in the gut. Why must you include a string of things that are irrelevant to my question?

- Relevancy comes from the magnesium and calcuim that are IN the green powders mentioned. They will not compete when in this form as in other forms - and the nutrient depletion issue is removed since they can work WITH a chelation program.
You can get your minerals this way the same day as your chelation treatment so coverage is so much better.
But, hey, I know simple answers are preferred so I'll remember with any more questions you post not to ever add any more detail that strays from a quick answer. Easier that way than trying to think of other ways you can achieve results or address an issue.
Stick to what your doctor tells you - if he's the same one addressing the chelation - and it should be fine. -

I am still learning, so will not venture to tell you what I know.
I do know that this site tells everyone that we need twice as much magnesium as calcium. And I think we need very little SUPPLEMENTED calcium once our Magnesium is in line.
There is an AMAZING product called ReMag that gets the mag into our cells ASAP. It has really made a difference for me.

Keebler, a 1 teaspoon serving of chlorella has only 8mg of magnesium. That's a paltry sum for anyone trying to replace minerals. You'd have to take 50 servings a day to get anywhere with that! LOL
Of course if you took anywhere near that much you would probably develop iron toxicity.
