After putting off for four months out of fear I have decided to go for it today. I am terrified. I will start slow - 250mg one time today and 250mg one time tomorrow. Then next week I will up to 250 mg twice each day.

I am terrified. Could use some encouragement.

Might even want to start lower than that. I began with slivers of a 250mg pill of flagyl.

Don't be you will be fine. It is easy to tolerate. We did fine on it, no reactions and we were on it for 4 months.

What is your greatest fear? Remember that you are in the drivers seat and if things get too uncomfortable you can always reduce or stop.

Some reaction may be expected. It is a powerfull drug, but necessary to progress in treatment.

Within an hour after my first dose of Tini I had some abdomanal pain and lower GI issues. The sx passed quickly and reduced with each additional dose. I felt like it was from die-off.

good luck

My greatest fears are an allergic reaction and a major herx that would shut me down like closing up airway or something.

I know, I know my thoughts are a bit out there. I was never like this to this extreme, but since I became sick it's like I am paranoid and expecting the worse with meds and food.

It was the same thing with Rifampin and Azithromcyin and I am tolerating those just fine.

For some reason though the fear is really heightened with Tindamax so much so that I have put it off for four months by my LLMD says I really need to push forward.

I have taken so many meds in my life before and never really questioned taking them - I just took it and never gave it a second thought.

But since Lyme it's like my mind is all paranoid about an allergic attack.

I did it! I started Tindamax today - 1/2 of a 500 mg tablet and no allergic reaction praise the name of Jesus!

Now to see how I tolerate it herx wise. I will keep you posted.

Again, thank you all so much for giving me encouragement. Blessings!

It's much easier to handle than Flagyl. I took 500mg three times a day, didn't start off slowly and didn't have any big issues.

Yay! So happy you started it! I too had a lot of reservations about this med. We started it full throttle years ago and I learned from experience that some people need to start slow. Sometimes slow and steady wins the race!

We recently began tindamax again. Started off with a quarter of a tablet...125mg and slowly titrated up to 500mg BID.

My only issue now is how the heck are we supposed to maintain that dose two weeks on/two weeks off.

Drink a lot of lemon water!

I love Tini. For me, it's a much easier med than Flagyl.

On it now at 500mg 2x/day. No side effects or awful herxing.

Good luck! If you did well on Mepron and Rifampin, I think you will handle Tini just fine.

My doc wants to put me back on Tindamax too.I haven't been on it in three years. I was scared too, but it really wasn't bad for me at all.

I only took a 1/2 dose the first couple of days..but I do this with each new med. Tindamax did give me some herx reactions, but nothing I couldn't handle. I felt good about the herx, knowing it was something dying....

What else will you be taking with it?

What I'm scared about is stopping my beloved Rifampin. I have been on it 1 1/2 years. It was the only thing that helped stopped my twitching muscles. So I have no twitching now but joint pains are back full force.

Anyone taken Rifampin and tindamax together?

There are no specific contraindications to Tini and Rifampin.

I also love Rifampin. You've given me an idea for my next combo.

For me, it was like taking a sugar pill. No difference at all. Neither did it fix or seem to improve anything.

Flagyl on the other hand also felt like taking sugar pills, but after 4 months on it I started to feel slight improvement. Unfortunately, both times I went on it, I was then taken off.
