I got reinfected with Lyme and since it's really sunny, I started with Amoxicillin.
I broke out in a horrible Amoxicillin rash. I then took some Ibuprofen for the pain, covered up in sunscreen and went into the sun for a brief time.
Yikes, I got THE WORST hives and sunburn imaginable from head to toe.
The treatment for this is steroids, so it's really important NOT to have this happen to anyone with Lyme. I'm just riding this out with fresh aloe applied to the rash and lots of nettles being taken internally.
I then learned that many drugs (not just doxycycline), chemicals IN sunscreen, and some herbs cause photosensitivity.
I don't want anyone suffering like I have for the past week, so I'm posting a couple lists with links (I'm just copying and pasting, I don't have it in me to read through for duplicates).
Sorry, the second list has 2 drugs listed side by side, but all the info is there.
UMBRELLAs are also a good idea but they MUST be made from special fabric / weave and rated specifically for use in the sun. -

- This may help your skin right now, in addition to aloe. Glad you are taking Nettles as a supplement. Gotu Kola also has some good skin healing properties.

I'm really into natural sunscreens.
I've had good luck with Mexitan and MyChelle's SPF28 if people need suggestions for safer sunscreens.
These both contain titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.
I tried an new sunscreen last week that doesn't have these and it really failed me.

I'm bathing in calendula tea (just using the whole flowers and making a strong brew).
Gotu Kola is new to me. I'm adding that to the list. Thank you!!!!

Wow, I was looking at the list and wellbutrin (BUPROPION) is on there.
Be sure to check alternative names if you're looking up something.

Be careful of all the natural stuff because if you are now sensitive to salicylates you could be making things worse. Just a heads up.
