I'm supposed to start Ivermectin this week. They are 3 mg tablets and it says to disperse with water before taking orally. Are these supposed to dissolve in water? If not, are these supposed to be taken on am empty stomach or with food? Thanks!

I take it with a glass of water on an empty stomach, and don't eat for about an hour afterwards. I have never heard of dissolving it (just swallowed it).

I don't think it matters if you take it with food if you are going after PR and not intestinal parasites. If you don't take it with food, it may cause cramping or bloating.
I take 12 mg. 3 is a very small dose.

Hubby took the horse paste rather than the prescription pills -- much much cheaper even with insurance. He took his dose with some applesauce right before bed.
Since babesia usually reproduces overnight I think taking the med in the evening is probably the best time.
