My LLMD decided to put me on bioidentical testosterone/DHEA cream to bring up my low testosterone level.
I'm 37 and my testosterone measured only < 0.2 pg/mL.
I have made incredible improvements with my Lyme, Bart & Babs. I do have lingering symptoms that could be related to my testosterone level.
I'm curious to see how this helps me but I also have concerns...
Will I have to supplement testosterone the rest of my life? I plan on trying to get pregnant this year and I know I will need to stop using the cream then.
Will a few months of using this cream do anything to bring the level back up to normal? My DHEA was normal.

my llmd wanted me to use the cream but i know the side effects are hairloss and acne ( i took accutane and will not go back to that no matter what, which made my hair fall out )
so i opted not to use it
i could careless about sex drive, my muscle mass is fine, and so is my energy... so i couldn't find a benefit to take it for me
any thoughts i apprehiate, why do you want to use it, how do you think it will benefit you?
just curious

Hi Lucy. The side effects of hair loss and acne do make me nervous. I will stop immediately if that starts to happen.
I do have loss of muscle mass and low energy so I'm willing to see if this helps. If anything, it will give me some information. I also have sweats, which could just be from infection.
I haven't been able to get in touch with my LLMD to get some questions answered.
I'm concerned that I could be perimenopausal... wondering if I'll be able to get pregnant. I'll see my OB/Gyn soon so I can talk to her about it too.
I'm hoping that as we continue to treat infections, my testosterone will increase. But I've been sick for so long and really feel aged by this illness.
As an aside, and if Gail, our parasite teacher is reading this...
I've had a stubborn parasite infection that was never treated adequately so I wonder how much this is playing a role in affecting hormones.

I used it and didn't lose hair or get acne but we watched my levels. I opted for the Idaho Blue Spruce and my levels are normal for the first time. My husband uses too and is doing great!
