Summer's thread about not absorbing meds and supps has me thinking. I have wondered about this as well but have also not improved much from IV medications.
How do you know if mal-absorption is an issue and you are not absorbing your meds? I am not underweight so don't have that obvious clue.

Not sure about absorption, but there's a transit time test.
Can't remember the details, but it will be available online.
Basically, one eats a lot of beets, then times how long it takes to see the beets in a bowel movement.
Online it will say what the best time range is.
Mine was 6 hours... So for sure I have some absorption issues as my food doesn't get broken down and fully assimilated.
Also, if you often see undigested food in your bowel movements it indicates food is not being broken down effectively.
As far as abx and supps go, I don't know, unless your LL is able to measure abx levels in your blood.
