Thanks for the reply. Pure Encapsulations is the main brand of supplements that I use but their vitamin C unfortunately contains corn. Who would of have thought. Most brands of vitamin C are derived from GMO corn.

There are organic C products. One of these is Synergy Pure Radiance C powder form -- so you don't have to worry about capsules and additives.
Pure Radiance C provides:
Concentrated Camu Camu berries wild crafted in the Amazon - proven to be the world's richest source of vitamin C.
Concentrated Amla berries organically grown in Himalayan valleys - the most revered and regenerative herb in Ayurvedic medicine.
A proprietary blend of certified organic acerola, rose hips and lemon peel and certified organic, freeze-dried blueberries, raspberries, cranberries and cherries - this exquisite blend contributes highly beneficial co-factors, such as bioflavonoids, quercetin, hesperidin, anthocyanins and proanthocyanins, to activate powerful antioxidant activity.
Certified organic, freeze-dried buckwheat berry sprouts - an abundant source of naturally occurring rutin, an important vitamin C co-factor.
Bioperine, a treasured black pepper berry concentrate to facilitate the uptake and absorption of vitamin C in the body.
Only wholesome ingredients - Pure Radiance C is made with certified organic and wild crafted ingredients and contains no additives, fillers, corn, gluten or synthetic ascorbic acid.
All ingredients The Synergy Company uses are grown and processed without genetically modified materials.
Pure Radiance C is a kosher product.
Each ¼ teaspoon of powder or one vegetarian capsule of Pure Radiance C is made with certified organic and wildcrafted ingredients and provides 200% of the FDA's RDI for vitamin C - the perfect amount according to the latest research!
Anyway they discuss about the manufactured versions of C here:
Then there are those who say Linus Pauling was unequivocal in his belief that the ascorbate fraction of ascorbic acid (called the ascorbate ion) is vitamin C. I have no idea if this article is backed by anyone looking to profit from the info.
I am sure though that the GMO problem wasn't a factor at that time as it is now since the majority of corn is now GMO. Perhaps the non-GMO version of ascorbic acid is still valuable?
Pure Bulk which I believe is in Oregon sells a non-GMO, non-synthetic, ascorbic acid which is very reasonable so you might want to look into that and you could contact them as to how the product is made:

Ska8ter not sure that one fits the bill "The phosphatidylcholine is non-hydrogenated and is derived from tested non-GMO ingredients." but it doesn't say that the ascorbic acid is not corn based and non-GMO.
Looking, thanks. I had previous found Synergy Pure Radiance C but didn't know if it was a good product. The Pure Bulk looks interesting. I will be looking in to both of them a bit further.

Yep, that's it. I have a friend with a corn allergy and that's the only one she can take.

Wow, I never would have thought they would put GMO corn in vitamin C. No wonder vitamin C gives me yeast.

GMO...ya mean Monsanto...the makers of DDT, agent orange, etc. the company that is NOT being held responsible for the environmental - human impact.
Google: agent orange diabetes prostate cancer. And the insect that transmits malaria (female) is DDT RESISTANT.
For starters!!!

Ya...the next one they are introducing is even more scary!!! Ya all need to read about Monsanto's history...
It is still in our environment. It is in our food chain. It is still being used in other countries as a pesticide to kill insects = more food for more people, but screw the environmental impact on humans long-term.
Sorry...very angry...agent orange exposure hits too close to home!
Abxnomore...were you *tested for* this gene type:
HLA-DR B1 0401 ?
BTW...I'm on your side, but...I don't want anyone, not one person (!), to die from a treatment to cure lyme.
