I am still working but feeling like if this gets much worse I can't go on. As it is I have to lay in the bathroom occassionally. Ugh.

Just ramped up to daily doxy and tindy on weekends. It's been three weeks. I'd already been on coartem and malarone (daily during the week.) How can I be on so many meds that are supposed to be killing things and I feel WORSE.

I just feel like my legs weigh a thoughts pounds and every now and then so weak I can hardly walk. Really wish I knew what was causing what....

Okay vent over.

Argh Jessie [Frown]

You poor thing! Weak legs are the worst!

I understand the laying on the bathroom floor thing. I have never seen the bottom of my toilet as much as since I had lyme and co.

I worked through most of my lyme treatment the last year, except for about a 2 month stretch.

The time off was during the worst of the herxing, which is what yours sounds to be also. All my viruses reactivated and I couldn't physically lift any body part to get out of bed.

Are you pulsing the tinidazole? The week pulsing OFF, you may feel better.

Please rant away. It is hard to explain the feeling of leaden limbs and rubbery muscles to folks who don't have lyme and co.

We all get it.

I hope your doc gave you some good detox advice? It may help you to feel better during this time.

I remember one day I went to work sick. worked a couple of hours and ended up in the bathroom throwing up all over the place. my dear friend came in and said they were mad cause I wasnt at my desk.

she went back and told them I was indeed sick and did they want me vomiting on their desk.

guess what? they didn't believe her and came to see. thank gosh I hadn't cleaned up or flushed the toliet.

I lasted several months after that and realized I just couldn't put up with their crap and be so ill.

I never looked back.

Thanks guys. Hope you are both better! I was off meds for about 6 months. I wasn't great but I wasnt extremely sick either. I decided I wanted to give getting rid of all sx one last go. And so, here I am on a slew of drugs again. I am hoping this is a herx. But who knows, right?? I am on tindy only on weekends. the Doxy is daily -- and this is week 3 of daily doxy. I just feel like I will always be this way. It's no way to live.

I know its hard but it means you are killing bugs

It will get better

Some llmds think a bad herx is not helpful and lower the dose...you ramp up as you can. You want to herx a little but not alot

I had to start flagyl and rifampin with a crumble of a pill...i worked up to full dose within a few weeks

Try to be happy you are killing bugs and have a good detox plan

Which symptom were you trying to get rid of? Maybe you should just cut your losses and be done.

Just saw my LLMD. Well known and I like him. He thinks maybe we do one more month of the protocol and then stop all abx and allow my body to heal. He wants me to do the GAPS diet and to detox, sleep, etc. Once I am stronger if my lyme is still very active then he says we can try IV or IM abx. I guess this sounds reasonable. I am starting to think these sx aren't a herx at all but my body rejecting the ABX. I literally feel poisoned not fluish. I wish I knew what to do.

..and have a question, for the last 4-5 days I have had very very intense pins and needles in my feet. Haven't ever had this before. Could any of the meds I am taking cause this? (Coartem, Mepron, Tindmax and Doxy) I am just trying to figure out of this is a herx or side effects. LLMD doesn't think my terrible month has much to do with a herx. Says it's lasting too long and we didn't change my protocol that much (went from 2 days doxy to every day doxy). THANKS!!!

TINDIMAX!! Call your LLMD and let him/her know about the neuropathy! You don't want it to become permanent.

Thx! I think I'm going to stop everything for a few days and the. Start up again one at a time and see if anything is the culprit. I worry about stopping in case what I'm feeling is a herx but I think I have to. Thx.
