Could a CT scan miss an infected gallbladder?
My last attack was in November 2013 and I have never recovered. I got 2 to 3 sharp pains in my gallbladder, followed by days of undigested food, yellow stool, nausea, etc.
Since that time, the undigested food symptom comes and goes but I've had it for the past 2 weeks.
The pain is also now constant and also radiates around the right side and up the middle of my back and shoulder.
HIDA scan in Nov. was 88%. Recent CT scan showed slightly fatty liver. Going for an upper GI and colonoscopy in 2 weeks.
I feel like I have infection either in my GB or colon.

Mine was at 22% when I had it out two weeks ago. My ct scan showed it was enlarged but within reason.
The surgeon didn't make a decision on it until the HIDA came back. It had also caused all the lymph nodes in my stomach to swell. I'm glad it's gone. I find I am able to still tolerate most foods except for pork.
When they injected you for the hida did you feel anything from it? My gall bladder went crazy it was really uncomfortable. That was also another sign it was time for it to go.
Good luck I hope you get some answers.

Since my last onset of symptoms in November, belching was added to the list.
Anyone else have belching issues related to gallbladder?
Did your entire body feel sick? I feel like something has an infection....either gallbladder or colon....all absolutely on fire and back pain, nausea, etc.
Trying to hold on until I get the colonoscopy because my sister was diagnosed in Feb. with Stage 3 colon cancer.
HIDA Scan in November was 88% and I had some pain during procedure, but not bad. Since then, symptoms are worse and daily. Surgeon's nurse told me his first HIDA was 86% and repeat was 22%. So, I guess I should ask for a repeat HIDA.

- I'm confused here. Please clarify.

PS.. belching can be from candida/yeast .. it's possible that is also in the mix

Yes....belching can be from yeast, gallbladder, H. pylori, hiatal hernia, etc.
Wish I did know what was going on. I am treating yeast and doing a very strict diet...just in case.

I do still have it. Went to GP the other day. He said to start Prilosec for a couple weeks to distinguish between acid issues vs gallbladder. So, I will try it and let u know. I do have a hiatal hernia but never have any reflux. Don't know. Also waiting to see about Diabetis.
Hang in there
