Is anyone else on the fence about a Medicare drug plan switch (the deadline is tomorrow/Dec. 7!)?
I have Cigna, they've actually been really good about covering oral meds for long periods of time, including things like Mepron, etc., plus also Bicillin shots.
But since they and *all* of the plans have official limits on IV meds, and I've heard other plans are better though nobody seems to have a clear and consistent answer (b/c of course the insurance companies are not clear and consistent!) over which would be best.
A lot of them mention Ceftriaxone though but not other IV meds, like Rifampin.
So I'm curious if anyone has had success getting coverage for *that* (IV Rifampin, not oral) since it's very very expensive. Or other IV meds that are not Ceftriaxone (which I want to).
I'm particularly wondering about UHC/AARP plan versus Cigna with this. Any thoughts?
And is anyone else in the same boat doing last-minute deliberating while trying to figure out how to operate the Medicare site?? Posts: 929 | From Massachusetts | Registered: Oct 2007
