Someone suggested it to me and I looked it up and the Amazon reviews were nothing but positive and uplifting but seems to good to be true. But then again 1500 4-5 star reviews?

Great results for me. Seemed to do a good job on resistant yeast and also maybe some parasite coverage. Also gentle detox and I felt quite energized on it - in a gentle way. I give it 5 stars!

My stomach didn't like it very much. I do feel it was very effective. I think it made me break out .. probably killing parasites and such.

Go easy on it.

So would you recomend using it? I might buy some. How come I've never seen anyone talk about it? Is it to be treated like a binder so 2 hours away before and after meds and suppliments?

Yes, it's like a binder. You might do a search here. I know it's been discussed.

I think it's good, but my body can't handle it right now. I have chronic hives and I got them right after doing the DE two days in a row. SO.....

There were other factors involved in my getting the hives, but I'm hesitant to rock the boat again.

I took it for a while. Stopped after a while because I didn't see any positive results after a while.

I tried to kill ticks with it, they walked on it without problem, so I do wonder if the theory that this kills ticks is true, and from what does come from?

The Swiss ticks are immune to DE. I wonder if it does kill parasites then...

We put DE in an old spice container and powder any of those big black ants that get in the house over winter.

They take it back to their nest and it does eventually stop the ants from coming. We don't need to worry about poisons using DE.

My husband has used DE several times for awhile. Don't know if it helped kill parasites or not. He had no negative results while using it.

We use it all the time for detox, and gentle parasite control. It kills ticks, fleas etc but it can take up to 4 days to kill them, so not quick. Ants have softer shells, as do woodbugs, so they die faster.

We take DE in a little water or juice, but here is another way...

I read it was toxic, especially if you get it into your lungs. It works like asbestos. It is an ant/bug killer, but you have to suit up with gloves, mask, etc. to avoid getting it on your skin or breathing it into your lungs.

The fact that you ingest it seems so wrong. Do a search on the internet before you buy this.

It's not toxic to the lungs.. just a very fine dust you have to be careful with .. like any fine dust it could get into your lungs.

I just read an article recently that was addressing the fears about inhaling it. It said that the food grade kind does not cause this problem and iyou should not be scared of it. It's another kind of DE that can't be inhaled. Of course I can't remember where I read it but it made sense at the time.

I believe that it's not great to inhale the food grade version, so I'm careful to avoid causing dust clouds of it while I'm using it in the kitchen.

POOL grade DE on the other hand is toxic to eat, breath or get on your skin. So make sure to order the right one.

Food grade is a common dry goods additive to keep bugs out. It's othe wise know as "fossil flour".

DE- what I have experienced is that my teeth and

skin feel slick like glass even after one dose.

Love that.

I need to drink more water as it really dries me

out. I love DE though, crave it actually, but I

only used it for a week or so.

I think if one has kidney challenges I would not

use it.

Also, because of it's high silica content it will

try to expel foreign objects from the body like

teeth implants, splinters, silicone, etc.

I did not see it deter the carpenter ants here but maybe I did not use enough of the DE. I saw also that they walk around it.

There is another way to take it. I picked this up

from the local health food store that has this

flyer next to the DE. I think this way is better

as it is not such a load on the body and also one

is not getting exposed to free flying DE dust

every day.

The ratio is as follows but one can make smaller

batches if desired.

"One tablespoon DE (15ml)
1 gallon water (4 liters)

Put one tablespoon (15ml) of DE in gallon of

water. Let it settle. The DE will sit at the

bottom and just leave it there.

Take little sips throughout the day. When the

water level gets too low, just add water. Let

the mud deposit in the bottom, it is slowly

delivering silica. You could do that on and on

for years without changing the DE, but most

people change it every few months.

You do not need to keep it in the refrigerator,

but you can if you want to.

DE will be more effective if you add it to the

water and let it settle. You will get more of the

benefits of silica this way."

THANK YOU, Look up. I will try it soon.

And good to know that some people do have positive experiences with DE against insects. I thought it just destroys its skin fast!!

I almost bought it, then I read an article on a lyme site on twitter yesterday about how dangerous it actually is. How it may interfere with absorption of treatments, ect...I decided against it.

I have used food grade off and on for about two years. I read several articles and most were from successful users.

I have not had any issues that I can trace back to DE. I am now off ABX so I use it to cut up the parasite eggs and larva, and cut up candida.

All the Best, MattH

Thats what scares me

The reason it can kill insects is it gets into their spiracles. Insects have a tracheal breathing system, so it suffocates them. It also can abrade and absorb the waxy layer on an insect’s body which dries them out.

It is rapidly expelled from the lungs when inhaled so we don't have the same problem, but it is irritating for a short time. I've used it for insect control (mites on chickens) and Ive just used a mask when using it.

You should only be using food grade for these purposes. Non- food grade is Crystalline diatomaceous earth, which is much smaller, and may accumulate in lung tissue and lymph nodes. You absolutely must wear protective gear when using it as it long term exposure has been linked to cancer:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11119633

Risk is reduced with proper protective gear:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1035494/

Crystalline DE is treated with high heat and only used for filtration (in pools), so its not something most would come across, unless you manufacture it or work with filtration.

I started doing like Lookup suggested. I just keep one liter (2 coffee spoons of DE) in a water jug. I must find a bigger jug.

But I added a bit of Himalayan Salt. For better absorption, a bit of electrolytes is never bad (and the body usually crave electrolytes).

Just like 1/4 or 1/5 of a coffee spoon, you won't even feel it's salty. Dr. K recommended as much Himalayan salt in drinking water as you start tasting it. It differs from person to person (some need more, because they lack electrolytes more), some less.

For even better effects, you can take a glass out and succuss it before putting it back into your jar. It gets to feel almost like medicinal water!!

You can do that with the whole bottle though. It's just that my jug is open, so I can't succuss the whole jug...

Thanks for sharing that recipe with DE. I'll try to take it for long and see if it keeps testing good energetically, with the weeks and months to come.

Thanks for reviving this thread.

--"Is it to be treated like a binder so 2 hours away before and after meds and suppliments?" Tbrown2 asked this near top of thread.--

Good question since I need to take it near food/supp.s-- I get heartburn if I take it on an empty stomach. I try to take it 20 min.s after eating, but it's hard to remember!

Never got up to 1Tbsp, use a heaping tsp. and blow the dust away while stirring into water.

I like it. Naturopath recommended. Got a big bag at a feed mill--food grade, the white powder, also given to farm animals (shards kill pathogens, etc.).

Wear mask, spread on lawn and around house edge.

Like lookup's idea (silicone for skin) but will there still be shards for killing 'germs'?
THANKS EVERYONE
