So I started taking food grade diatomaceous earth recently and last night I was feeling extra crappy so I uped my dose before bed to a full heaping table spoon. Well for the first time in a long time I slept like a rock. Solid sound sleep. However I woke up soaking wet with sweat even though it was freezing in my room ... I don't know what that means any input? Back to Top

I sense from what you said that you don't feel worse overall... so this might be a good direction for you??
A sweat at least means your body is after something.
And a good night's sleep is at a premium. That's great.

It probably killed off a ton of stuff. Be careful to keep your intestinal tract MOVING while taking DE!!!
Best to start slowly with this stuff. I broke out in a huge painful rash after taking 1 tsp two days in a row.

The sleep part could be the DE absorbing neurotoxins or simply giving you a huge dose of minerals, which are sedative in nature. Or both. Or neither. :/
The sweating is interesting. When I sweat in response to something, it's die-off. When I sweat on a regular basis, with no changes to my program, it's a flare and I need to change things up.
I'd like to see how you do with some time on DE. It was super absorbent and dehydrating for me, which is why I didn't continue. Drink TONS of water and let us know how it goes.

Yes definaltly clearer and I feel less anxiety as well. I worked my way up to 1 tablespoon twice a day over the past two weeks

Oh wow! We often have herxes after being on something for a few weeks. Four weeks seems to be a magic number, but that can vary wildly, so my vote would be herx, especially since you felt better after it.

TBrown, how are you feeling these days? Are you able to tell if DE is making any difference?

I can't say for sure if it helps though I think it does. It defianlty helps clear out my insides and I feel like I sleep better when I take it. My nails seem to be growing fast as well as my hair. I never saw any parasites in the toilet like some of the studies claim so maybe that means I don't have parasites? I'm mostly feeling better latley how ever I still have a few annoying symptoms that I've had since day 1. I feel like the DE has helped with detox and cut down on my eye floaters.
Now if only I could get rid of my chest tightness/anxiety, and dizzyness Id be golden.
I have felt better since taking it but i also don't know when it's time to stop

Well that is good that it has made some improvement for you. I think I have read that some people take this as part of their daily regimen, even when not chronically ill.
I believe there are different dosages recommended for maintenance v. trying to detox. I should probably get back on it. Happy to hear you are doing a little better. Thanks for the update.

Do u know the differences in the detox vs. maintenance dosage? I've been taking 2tbs 1 before bed 1 when I wake up. Wonder what that dose falls under

I have read here and in other places that one heaping tablespoon per day, either upon awakening or at bedtime, is the recommended dose for taking regularly. I know that includes detoxing - and you should build up slowly to this amount.
I just read that DE is also a blood thinner. Wow - did not know this. Probably should not take if you are going to be having any surgery or dental work. Always a good idea to run this by your LLMD because of issues like this...

tbrown, interesting about your floaters being decreased.
I might give this stuff a try. I've tried a number of things over the years but nothing has helped with my floaters so far. Will post if I try it and it helps.
