Does severe joint pain come from inflammation around the joint? Does lyme cause joint damage that could be seen on Xray or MRI.

That is a good question. I'm new to this and I'm not sure of the answer. I would speculate that it is actually damaging the joints, but that that the joint pain could also be from toxins due to die off.

What I understand is that the bacteria like the synovial fluid in the joints. Then inflammation occurs because they're there.
Yes, some people get joint damage sever enough to be seen. Others don't.
Note - I take powdered turmeric that I put in 00 size capsules and that takes down joint pain for me.
The other modality is getting a lymph drainage massage - that can take down pain for a couple weeks.

My daughter's lyme arthritis has not been visible on any imaging that has been done including xray, mri, and bone scans with contrast.
