I have zero energy. i am tired and my occasional motivation is gone.

Whatever it is that drives us to get out of bed or off the couch to clean, cook, shop, etc. has left.

I have been feeling like this for a week. everything seems overwhelming. The thought of tackling the dishes in the sink makes me want to curl up in a ball.

It's like I can't make myself do it. I feel bad but then again I always feel bad.

Does this sound like yeast maybe?
Is there anything that will help me get some motivation back?

I need to get stuff done but I feel immobilized.

Sounds like depression.

Are you taking anything for that?

sounds like adrenals . my adrenal fatigue can put me on the sofa and make me feel like opening a bottle of water that I just arm wrestled a Sumo Wrestler!

adrenals can make you feel lazy and like you just ran a marathon when all you did was type a letter or fold some towels!

get your adrenals checked

I have had severe depression and severe fatigue. If I were depressed I wouldn't be writing anything asking anyone questions. severe depression makes you withdrawal from other people, not want to talk to them- even to say "hi".

I agree adrenals will make you feel that way. Blood tests are not useful for accessing adrenal function. Saliva testing, four samples during the course of the day, will give you a graph of your adrenal rhythm and what's taking place during the course of the day.

Also testing your neuro transmitter levels is very helpful. NeuroScience has a test that does both. I believe it's called Neuro/Adrenal panel 9028.

I've tried modafinil, the herb kratom (controversial), and l-theanine. Not at the same time obviously, but in the search to find something that gets me moving.

I hate modafinil. It makes the blood pound in my ears and I sweat and feel spun out.

The k herb is OK, tastes terrible. Pretty hard to gag down.

L Theanine is my favorite

It is very nice. Helps me to focus and get stuff done (ie putting socks on doesn't feel like a hike up Kilamanjaro)

I am sure there is a gazillion brands out there.

The one I tried is called Zen Theanine by AOR.

I take the L theanine in the morning-ish. Sometimes with food, sometimes without food, and it still works smoothly.

Even though it is similar to glutamate, it binds to the glutamate receptors and actually reduces the effects glutamates have on poor lyme brains.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theanine

I don't understand this part really all I get is that it helps me get dressed, sometimes shower and get marginal chores done occasionally around the house.

Wiki says it produces alpha waves, and I'm telling you I can use as many of those now as possible, haha.

Hope this helps.

Gigi - is it possible you have come down with something else on top of the Lyme? Any other symptoms, etc? Sometimes I just assume everything is Lyme and co. and it isn't always.

Also, what meds are you currently taking? Mepron is a big one for causing depression, and it doesn't always kick in at first.

Flower pollen? I existed on that when I didn't know what was going on. Also Super malic helped then - malic acid and mg.

It could be an Epstein Barr or viral flare.

Good sleep and Green Tea Energy (Yogi brand) helps.

Pretty simple, but it works for. The tea can keep you up so drink it early.

Could you be having a Bb relapse? I had the energy of a dishrag until I took Cats Claw. NOW Cats Claw Extract 10:1 Concentrate is what I take. Fatigue is a Lyme so.

It's the specific brand I mentioned that works for me. There's a combo of stuff in there.
