I was thinking about this the other day.
Every time I have a flare of some sort, be it pain etc, I always assume it is due to Lyme & co.
It really doesn't matter what the symptom is. I blame lyme & co.
But lately I've started to worry about what happens if I ever get a "more serious" disease like cancer, etc.
I expect if I ever do get cancer (or some other type of terminal illness), I probably would waste months thinking it was lyme related when I should have been on cancer treatment, etc.
Do you ever worry about missing symptoms from other potential, terminal diseases and instead thinking they are just due to Lyme?
I think this could be a big problem for me in the future...as I'll likely blame lyme & co first and foremost for everything.

I think that's why it's important to have a really good internist/pcp. someone to catch the other possibilities. And of course stay current on screenings.
pain is a hard one though... If we went to dr's every time something hurt, we'd always be at the dr's. I know I wait way to long to check out pain.
