Hello!

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with any type of treatment that eliminates gallstones without the need for gallbladder removal.

I've read that there are medications that can do this (don't know yet about safety or effectiveness)....

...and possible other methods of treatment as well.

Has anyone ever done this? If so, what did you do, and was it successful?

I have occasional issues because of a large stone, but my gallbladder itself looks very healthy.

Thanks!

Ursodiol may help, but if it's large stone, I'm not sure you'll get anywhere with it. It's helps sludge and prevents stones... but...

I just had an ultrasound, so I don't yet know the size of the gallstone.

I do know that it's a big one based on older tests.

Ugh....with my luck....I'll fall just outside of the size limit to qualify for a non-surgical treatment.

I went to the ER yesterday because I was having intense, sharp pain right under my chest.

They ruled out heart, pancreas and everything else. So, it was determined that the stone was positioned where it was causing pain.

Over 24-hours of it. Yuk.

Better today, but not back to normal yet. I'm watching my diet, drinking lots of fluids and using heat to soothe.

Man, would I LOVE to have an option to get rid of the stone.

I do NOT want to have surgery to remove an otherwise healthy organ. [Smile]

I will ask my doc about Ursodial at my appointment next month.

Thanks, Lymetoo!

I think there are ways you can get the stones out without surgery. You have to do it carefully, though. It takes time but I think it's worth it to save your gallbladder.

http://gallbladderattack.com/gallbladderandliverflush.shtml

You can also do searches for liver & gallbladder cleanse. Start slowly since you don't want to make things worse. I would try the more gentle ones (not the Huda Clark method - it's too extreme).

Thank you, sparkle7!

I'll take a look!

I hope there is a way to make this better.

These types of pains are scary, because you always wonder....what if it's my heart....what if it's my liver, etc.

Booo!

Sadly, a flush will not get rid of a large stone. It can even be dangerous to try. I was at that point about 10 yrs ago and had too many stones to try to flush them out. They were also way too large.

You need to be careful, jwick.

I had my gallbladder out after suffering way, way too long.

'Bad' gallbladders are common in my blood family, so weak area, and Lyme seems to like weak areas. No matter how much treatment, gallbladder was not functioning well,

and just continued to decline, even after Lyme and co- infection treatments. Very glad I had it out.

Lyme positive PCR blood, and
positive Bartonella henselae Igenex, 2011.
low positive Fry biofilm test, 2012.
Update 7/16- After extensive treatments,
doing okay!

It's probably a case by case decision. I'm not sure what the repercussions are from having a gall bladder removed. They have alot of info on the gallbladderattack website.

Isn't there some kind of sonic treatment for gallstones? or a drug? Seems better to try to keep an organ.

I didn't have huge stones but it felt like something was stuck in mine after a liver flush. It was pretty awful but it did pass eventually. I ended up doing a couple more flushes & taking some liver/gallbladder healing herbal tinctures.

Ended up I had a really bad parasite problem. Not fun at all... Who would have thought? I've been taking anti-parasite treatments on & off ever since. It's been about 7 years.

Time goes quickly the older you get.

You might want to look here for alternative home remedies:

I agree that keeping an organ is best.....if you can.

surprise: Was your experience a good one? Did things get better once you had it out?

They do have some kind of treatment similar to how they break up kidney stones.

The problem is, you want to pass a kidney stone....which is why they break them up.

If they break up a gallstone, the small pieces can then fit into the bile duct and trigger an attack/pain/blockage.

That's what I was told by a surgeon anyway. [Smile]

I wonder if you can do a flush for small pieces?

I just feel like with all they can do.....can't there be SOME non-surgical option to get rid of a huge stone?

This one stone is causing so much stress.

It never hurts to get another opinion, so I think I might inquire again and just see.

If there is nothing that can be done....well....at least I did all I could.

Look on Curezone. There's alot of info there.

http://www.curezone.org/forums/f.asp?f=439

They have alot of info about liver flushes, too. I'd be careful about liver flushes, though. Maybe you could do a mild one - not the Hulda Clark one.

Thanks, sparkle!

Yeah, the liver flushes scare me a bit...lol!

Not that they can't be beneficial....I just think they're a little tricky.

I am having these sharp, stabbing pains all over my chest and abdomen. I was just at my LLMD's office earlier in the week.

He said that while a huge gallstone can certainly be causing this....

...it might also be candida.

I just finished Doryx. I hadn't been eating as well as I should be, etc.

My feet and ankles have been swelling the past few days, too.

Wondering if that could be yeast related?

Chanca piedra works well for many people and is used around the world . There is also a product at amazon called gall bladder complete that has good reviews. Also , a drug called actigall can be prescribed or purchased through overseas pharmacies like All Day Chemist .

I would start with chanca piedra , which has been around a long time and has worked for many people
( read reviews at iherb and amazon. )

Page 18 of Burrascano Guidelines says to take actigal when taking IV ceftriaxone therapy:

"PARENTERAL THERAPY

Ceftriaxone- Risk of biliary sludging (therefore often Actigall is co-administered- one to three tablets daily)."

Planetary Herbals Stone Free is pretty good, too, if you want to go the herbal route.

TF....So funny you mention this! I have never been on that drug...BUT...my LLMD was recently telling me that someone he knows was on that therapy...

....and wound up with more than one gallbladder "attack."

Once therapy was over, things got back to normal.

I wonder if Doryx can cause any of that?

I am back on Fluconazole for a few weeks in case it is yeast related (or a combo).

Has anyone ever had gallbladder type symptoms that later turned out to be yeast?
