Well, we're all different in our responses to treatment. I take it quite often for infections, and I've also taken it for Lyme treatment.
I have never noticed a taste/smell problem, myself.
It's not dangerous - it's just another antibiotic - it's static, not cidal, meaning it stops the RNA replication but doesn't kill the bacteria like penicillin would, for example. I am allergic to abx, so that's why clinda was mine.
Best to take some probiotics when we're doing antibiotics.
There's a great free online Heal Your Gut summit that started today - posted about in General - speakers will be discussing probiotics quite frequently throughout the week - I recommend watching if you have the time.

Thanks Robin. My go to abx has been doxy. I don't tolerate others well either and think I'm allergic to penicillin. So this is my first go with clinda. Have to have it for my tooth.
Anyway, guess I will count it as another weird Lyme thing for now. I will check out the probiotic info.
Robin, did you take the 150 or 300 mg strength and would you mind sharing the dose of clinda you took for Lyme?

In the beginning, I took 150mg around the clock - ie every 6 hours like I'd done for a prior finger infection. At the end of a week, no more fibro pain!
Then I took it every 8 hours, to give myself some sleep!
Then I herxed after a month's time, and dropped it back to 150mg 2x/day, and that was enough for 5 years.
We're all different, though, so we all need to find out what's going to work for us.
I now take turmeric capsules that do just fine for muscle and joint pain.
