So I have had LOTS of random nerve pain since I got Lyme several years ago.
About 1 week ago after restarting minocycline x 1 week I got really flulike then I got a bump on my side. It was quickly surrounded with nerve pain and pain in my back, like I had thrown out my SI joint. I could barely walk.
My local doctor, who accepts Lyme, seemed to think it was Shingles. I started Valtex. Well the bump, which did have a blister look, did get better but nerve pain is still there. Its really sharp in my side. I never got more than the 1 blister...
Does this sound like Shingles? or Lyme...?
Two steps forward.. 10 steps back! My usual dance..

- Both, I think.
Shingles pain can last long after the skin heals and even be where the skin did not show.
And because lyme so greatly affects nerves, I do think that lyme is involved in that way as the nerves are just more tender and inflamed and the shingles took it to a new level.
The mushroom LION'S MANE may be helpful. my hands can't type much due to nujmbness but a good ND can offer more ideas.
magnesium, of course. -

Sounds like shingles to me. Hope the pain lets up SOON!
Be sure to take all of the Valtrex!

- Arnica oil might help - massage it in gently. Put a bandage pad (can't think of the name) over it to keep it moist so that arnica can work longer.
St. Johns Wort, too, homeopathic pellets under your tongue - and in a topical ointment. Hypericum, not sure of spelling of its official name. -

If it shingles L Lysine topically internally may help. Neem may help too
