On my LLMD's protocol, I was losing weight rapidly as I had diarrhea eight times a day!
I only weigh 103 lbs, so I don't have a lot of weight to lose ...
Gastroenterologists in my area don't even know that SIBO exists, have never heard of the FODMAP diet and are just generally clueless.
Anything with too much carbs, fiber and starch as well as anything high-iron and high-FODMAP is causing the food to ferment in my gut and I get foul-smelling gas and diarrhea.
It is not a candida issue, as candida meds (which previously helped when I had a different type of diarrhea), don't do a darn thing. Furthermore, my gut doesn't get better on the Candida diet, but does react positively to the SIBO and low-FODMAP diet.
I have been off antibiotics and on herbals only since the winter of 2013.
Anyone out there with SIBO/FODMAP issues who can help re: raising ferritin levels? Please?

I don't have SIBO, but I have very low good bacteria in my gut. I also had a gut infection. My doctor has me working on my gut and hopes that when I get the gut healed and can digest food properly that my ferritin levels will come up.
So, I'd work on the gut! And try to eat higher iron foods.
