Does anyone know if there are ways to deal with a MTHFR mutation/homocystine problem without taking a B Vit supplement?
My bladder as always been involved in my Lyme battle and after trying numbers times with B supplements, it always burns my bladder to the point I have to stop taking it.
I can and do take a mult vitamin with the RDA of B's, but I suppose that isn't enough.
Anything else I can do? I do eat green leafy vegetables but I wonder if there something else I can do.

I have DaVinci 5-MTHF/b12 2000. Is that the correct form?

What form is the B12? It should be adenosyl-, hydroxy- or methyl- not cyano- (the cyano- has to be converted to one of the other forms before the body can use it, and then the cyano- part has to be detoxed).
Also, there may be an inactive ingredient (filler, coating, binder, capsule, etc.) that may be causing your trouble. Leafy greens are your best source of the methylfolate.

More info if you could? This is a topic I need to know about for myself and others and don't have a clue. You can pretend I am in 1st grade. That's the starting level I'll need.
Mostly could use product names for taking B vitamins with MTHFR.

Razzle, a question from me too - it always feels like eating leafy greens, although good for us, doesn't do anything to affect my methylation issues. So just curious to hear more about why you think they're helpful.

Robin, leafy greens provide methylfolate. I use leafy greens to support my methylation instead of supplements. I eat 3 cups per day minimum. It was a major change for me when I added them to my diet.
It probably depends on what the problem is with your methylation. For me it's primarily the methylfolate, which I can get from food sources.
