I know someone who is heavily promoting hgh for lyme patients. Is this a bad idea? Has anyone tried this?

Off the top it sounds like a miracle but supps started either not working or making me feel worse long ago.

I know my doc wanted to make sure mine was in a good range, and it turned out to be, so given that he didn't to mess with it. So I think that's a good first question, or how much the person has without taking any.

Not sure why it would be a miracle, or what you've heard that sounds that way.

I've heard a lot from this individual.

Supposedly it helps lyme symptoms and makes u look younger, more energetic, etc.

First, HIGH any hormone as a single "thing" can cause a cascade of uncertain reactions.

It would be essential to have YOUR levels tested first. Even then, these hormones can all fluctuate from one minute to the next.

Many LLMD are familiar with it as PART of support plan. You might cross search the term with all the major LLMDs for such writings.

Rather than the expense of human growth hormone, I prefer to take Chlorella for the chlorella growth factors and, oh, so many other good nutrients including "blend of amino acids" that occurs from plant life, not engineered and costly.

Search Google: chlorella "Human growth hormone"

Then search: "chlorella growth factor"

I thought I had a nice and tidy links set but seems I never got around to that. While not a complete set as I'd like, some of my study note citations:

https://www.mountainroseherbs.com/search?page=1&q=chlorella&utf8=%E2%9C%93

Mountain Rose Herbs - Eugene, OR

Chlorella powder - or capsules.

I find their powder to be excellent. They also carry spirulina. If find chlorella to have a refreshing green taste on its own and spirulina to add a bit of barnyard if combining. But I don't do this for the taste and just mix them both.

Four ounces of powder for about 1 teaspoon a day lasts about a month. About $9. Eight ounces would be the better amount -- AFTER slowing working up the dose to twice or 3 x day and that would be just about $15. plus shipping.

Mixes well in water to carefully drink over the sink (it's a VERY fine dark powder so you don't want to let it get away from you. It comes in a pouch, best to store in a dark glass jar in cool temp.

Or mix into a vegetable puree or drink. Just be very careful to keep the jar, spoon and powder OVER the vessel it's going into.

Thanks Keebler and Michael.

Yes, I do need to get chlorella back in the mix.

I asked this individual for some personal testimonials and for someone who had success to share it with me and the individual said people are shy of talking...

I would not be shy of sharing a miracle with another lyme patient so I think that's weird.

Umm, I am officially moving on.

This sounds like a sales pitch.

If your stamina is okay, you can do HIIT (interval training) to raise HGH naturally.

Many doctors test IGF-1 as a measure of growth hormone and it is not a good marker of GH. I should know, I lost my pituitary function to Lyme. You have to have a glucagon stimulation test to accurately know what is going on. This is usually done by a pituitary endocrinologist at a big or teaching hospital. Do not take HGH stimulants. These only work if you have a normal pituitary gland to begin with. It is dangerous to fool around with growth hormone as it will affect every other hormone in your body. It can burn up thyroid hormone and cortisol hormone too quickly. You can't look at just one hormone and say you are doing great. You need to look at all the pituitary and its function it is responsible for, including oxytocin, vasopressin, growth hormone, cortisol, all the gonadal ones, thyroid both t4 and t3. When you screw around with one, you screw around with them all to your detriment.
