Hi everyone, since it's often demoralizing to log on and see how much suffering so many of us have, I thought I would share some good news.
For the last month, my LLMD and I are trying a new approach - off all pharmaceutical antibiotics, and only killers right now are Buhner herbs in high doses (~6 grams/day of Japanese Knotweed and Cat's Claw).
ON lots of binders (pectaclear, bentonite, cholestyramine) and adrenal support (including cortef at a small dose, and herbs and a glandular, etc). I'm also still on nystatin for yeast and seroquel for sleep.
I just wanted to share that it is actually helping me feel better!
Major caveat: I have been on big doses of meds like Malarone and Mepron to (hopefully) eradicate Babesia, and just came off that, which in itself has made me feel better.
I went through Dr. K's parasite protocol last summer (miserable, but worked). I have been on 20 or so different antibiotics and killers over the past two years - just passed my two-year treatment "anniversary" in June.
I am still symptomatic, with really bad joint pain (actually a newer symptom) and fatigue.
So, this isn't all good news, and I'm not "better" yet, but I wanted to share my positive experience with the bind-the-toxins, strengthen-the-host approach, thus far after one month.

Hey paleogal! These are awesome news!
Congratulations!
Don't worry about the 'new' symptom. It looks Bb coming now. You know how lyme is: it goes away LAYER by LAYER.
Once babs is down, something comes up, like bart or Bb...
I always took the disappearance of symptoms + appearance of new symptoms as a good step up in healing.
Of course, if the old symptoms appear, it does not mean improvement, but in my case, when babesia went down, I felt like I did a big step up.
Then came bart in rage: I fought it back, another step up.
Bart was less annoying with symptoms, but more difficult to spot, then babesia, I mean. And bart and Bb are so good friends, they walk hand in hand, and when one is awaken, there is a great chance that the other is just behind the door, waiting to come out.
but keep treating. No abx is good news, if you continue improving!!!
Congrats again!!

Well, it didn't last long - migraines and sweats came back.
Have gone back on alinia at a low dose, which initiated some of the worst air hunger I have had ever in my life. So I guess Babesia is still here.
Adding in Artemisa and Buhner Babs herbs (cryptolepis, side acuta, alcornea).
Oh well, at least I had one good month there. There is hope for the future that there will be more months like last month, I guess.
