When I read all the drugs people take, I wonder:

Am I the ONLY person here that does not take any drug whatsoever??

I mean, I'm not talking about supplements such as Vit C, magnesium, vit D3...

I mean: prescription drugs, mainly.

I wonder what's the percentage of people with lyme that take zero drugs.

I don't take any meds. I was full time on abx+ anti malarials from 2009 to 2011 full time. It didn't work.
But you already know that.

yes, I am treating with rife (using DNA frequencies) and DMSO

I take some supplements, but no drugs at all for anything

NOT against ABX, this is just how it worked out for me. My provider, the VA is TERRIBLE when it comes to lyme and the only lLMD in my area wants like $4000 up front. so this is what i am doing

luckily it is working out, slowly but am improving

Hey, great to know there are others drug free!

I thought it was only me! [bonk]

Here, few people I know take drugs, but my whole family in Brazil takes prescr drugs (both parents, all 3 brothers, all close relatives except for one person and young children).

Most people I meet there take some kind of drugs, even a few children!

I guess, it's a sort of drug 'culture': depending on the place you are, or the family you are, either people take drugs, or not.

In hubby's close family (form Belgium), most people start on drugs only after 60, 70 even...
If they start...

Many still take no prescription drugs till the end of their days.

Like here in Switzerland: either there are guys taking loads of drugs, or guys taking zero.

It's kind of funny to see differences.

As I keep reading here about this or that drug (that i have no idea what they are for...), I was wondering if EVERYONE is on drugs.

It's important that no one feels judged regarding pharmaceuticals, though. Some help, some don't for various conditions.

Either way - it's not like either state is a badge of honor.

[Aside from lyme / TBD treatment which was never an option in my case] . . . For myself, it's a relief not to be tied the pharmaceutical industry to mask symptoms and create more havoc for my body.

There were many terrible years where doctors were throwing a handful of Rx onto other handfuls of Rx just to mask pain and neurological matters. I barely survived all that. And I found a better way.

I am delighted to have found many things that help and often share those.

But it's not always within someone's control to have alternative options and while many Rx can have stunning side effects and unintended consequences by a fault of design, sometimes, it is a responsible control measure to take a certain pharmaceutical that might be the right ticket.

Treatment for infections vs. treatment for conditions not related to lyme / TBD - well, infection is where treatment choice may require Rx.

Jim Henson, the creator of the Muppets, died due to avoiding medical care for strep throat.

Still, some conditions are often better suited to nutritional / herbal / life style options.

Or a combination.

Good medicine is what works, to address the problem and not just mask it or require on-going cover ups. Good medicine is what helps us feel better, full on, and be better able to get on with life.

What's key, if find is that we have access to information about various kinds of medicine, however, and especially access to full information about pharmaceutical side effects, interaction and efficacy - including full access to all the testing (which we do not, though).

It can be nearly impossible to find independent 3rd-party research for most Rx.

Another question might be for those who have access to naturopathic doctors or acupuncturists, etc. to get a better idea of the range available.

Another question might also be how many hours does it take to study before one makes a decision about what to take, whether Rx or herbal medicine -- even after a MD or ND has recommended something?

It seems that at least 10 hours per decision, from maybe at least 10 sources, is what it's worked out to be for me in more recent years. And then, it's ongoing to see what's new. Every day is a study day.

I must say having a shoestring budget requires far more study since nearly every choice must cover several bases, so to speak.

Still, if it's not studying to discover how an approach might work, it's sure studying just how a body works (or does not work) in the face of . . . .

Many must do their own study, through vertigo and deep fatigue, due to lack of access to any kind of doctor who is capable to treat someone with chronic stealth infections.

Ultimately, I see the big question is how and when might each state and territory have all the LLMDs and LL NDs required? How might we do better all the way around?

Rhetorical, I know. Sigh.

I take no drugs. I take a natural thyroid support, a mineral supplement, a food sourced vitamin C, primrose oil, vitamin D3 drops, and sometimes a supplement called FemGuard.

Once a year I do a parasite cleanse with herbs.

I haven't been on prescription or over the counter meds since March of 2016 and made the most progress the past year being on herbs / supplements only.

Herbs / supplements can and do work. For me, they were a better path to wellness this time around.

Bcb, nice you found your path!

And congrats on your drug free life.

I particularly feel no need to add any drug, as I have my herbs, essential oils, supplements and thousands of homeopathics to try before I start on any drug.

The problem is not the drug only, but the side effects and toxicity. In no way my body can stand more toxicity than it already has...

Congrats anyway!

I don't take any prescription medication ever mainly because I am so sensitive. I have a hard time taking a lot of supplements too.

Trying to find alternative ways out of this challenge.

Thanks for that, Six!!

I'm doing the Hulda Clark zapper again. It never did anything to me in the past (during lyme), but I'm crashing for 2 hours after 30 minutes on the zapper.

2 days, both days = crash. So it means it is doing something...

Funnily, I have this zapper for ages, and never felt anything with it before. I wonder if my diet + kimchi is not doing something then.

I added some antiparasitic herbs too, let's see.
-------------------

Keikko... yep, like me, I don't feel well on any chemical drug.

I thrive on homeopathics and on energy medicine. Even herbs are hard, sometimes.

Have you ever tried homeopathic medicine?

Brussles...yes, I have been working with a homeopath here in TX. She does constitutional homeopathy which I have learned is not always easy to find the "correct" constitutional remedy for some.

I have pulled 4 infected teeth the year and had two dental implants removed, all areas cleaned out as well as 2 cavitations and all the metal removed from my mouth.

My brain is my biggest problem so hopefully this helps. Last surgery was 2 weeks ago. All root canals out now.

Herbs are hard for me too. I have done a lot of biomagnetism which is tricky in chronic illness. I am certified practitioner and have seen the best, Dr Goiz himself, but it has to be used cautiously in deep rooted chronic illness because it can flare infections. Plus, there are so many layers and other issues going on.

I bought that Tesla wand you have a thread about but have been scared to use it:) and not sure how cuz my head is foggy. My head swells with so many treatments.

What other kinds of energy medicine do you recommend?

Right now my liver/gallbladder area is blocked or something so I am not detoxing well which is part of the problem.

Keikko... Are you Japanese? I think I already asked you...
Your screenname reminds me of a Japanese friend!

The wand is not a good idea if you don't detox well.

Are you on binders?

What is your constitutional remedy (if you don't mind sharing that)?

Classical homeopathy is just a supportive treatment. I find other types of homeopathy more useful in case of lyme...

Classic homeopaths do not like much to recommend other things than constitutional remedies, but I used loads of other remedies (to support the organs, clean the lymph, kidney remedies etc).

I think the easiest remedy for the liver is Vital Force Technology product called Liver-spleen-pancreas. You got to get it through the site (if you are a practitioner, just subscribe and get it).

That tests good for so many people, and it has no side effects (that I know). And you don't need to study about potencies and dilutions, like homeopathy. It acts very deep in the liver, I find.

But I never stopped to take chlorella, bear garlic and MSM, so to say. I need these binders almost like I need food.

Nice you're treating your mouth. It's a good start, I think.

I like tapping. Tapping EFT or meridians, I do think they help me. If I do it often, I do feel better.

Brussels...no, I am not Japanese. It's my little black pugs name:)

Good to know not to use the wand until I can detox better and thank you for letting me know about Vital Force Technology. I will order it and give it a try!

I do take clay and charcoal for binders. Where do you buy the bear garlic? I have chorrela and should pull it out...thanks!

The homeopath has not been able to get the right remedy. Its has been a process over the past couple of years and maybe 10 different remedies. I was on aconite for over a year until she figure out it was the wrong remedy because things were just getting worse. I go back on Tuesday to try again.

Thanks for the reminder about tapping too!

I saw photos of black pugs!! they ARE cute!! [Big Grin]

Clay and charcoal barely reached about 10% of what chlorella + bear garlic + MSM do to me...

Yep, tapping on K27 and under the arms / height of nipples (gall bladder meridian) did help both my kidneys and liver.

Take a look again at Mercola EFT points or dr K's MFT points. Tapping them regularly solves some of the basic problems of body's regulation (through meridians)...

I've been doing classic homeopathy for more than 3 decades, I think... I don't think this helps lyme, it's more like helping me as a person.

It is worth doing it, but not for getting any fast results on chronic lyme (in my opinion).

My whole family goes sometimes to classic homeopaths, but it's sort of supportive.

We get faster and better results by energy testing homeopathy, or herbs, or meridians.

Classic homeopaths do not like muscle testing (because they do think their traditional way of searching for classic remedies is best), but we do that energy testing parallel to taking constitutional remedies.

No doubt, in my opinion, that energy testing does a faster job than all softwares classic homeopaths use! [Wink]
