I've been at the target dose, 4.5 mg./day, for about a month, and if it's helping, it isn't a black and white thing.
The pain is really intense, opioids used to be effective for it, but I became allergic to opioids. One of the advantages of LDN is that it only needs to be taken once a day; I'm a lot less likely to become allergic to something like that than the opioids, which I used to have to take three times a day.

agree with lymetoo LDN doesn't work for anyone it did nothing for my nerve issues and i tried it for a few months. what did take the edge off is Gabapentin. my stupid ex-LLMD was telling me it was inflammation and tried all sorts of crap only to realize on the first appt with my new LLMD that it was nerves.
still nothing completely gets rid of the nerves you can just put a bit of a clamp on it, at least in my case.

GVS,
I"m so sorry to hear that you have this. I do, too. How did you get it? Was it a combo of TBD's plus an injury?
I ask because if an injury was involved, and if it was less than a year ago, nerve blocks done by a Pain Management Doctor/ Anesthesiologist are the best bet at beating it back. They should be done as soon as possible after an injury. But you also want to find a doctor who's good at this.
CBD products, and possibly something with some THC, can help, too. If you have access to that. CBD products are available via the internet.
The long-term fixes, if there is any, are treatment for TBD and physical therapy (from what 2 LN members have said).
LDN hasn't helped me with this or anything else that I can tell. But everyone is different. I would keep at it to see. I would do anything to get rid of this.

Nerve pain between my eyes is the primary symptom of my misfiring immune and digestive systems, in other words, of infections and toxins that cause pressure and inflammation in one branch of the trigeminal nerves that runs between my eyes.
The catch-22 is that my messed up digestion and tendency to become allergic to things keeps me from taking the things I need to get better, not to mention symptomatic relief. My digestive problems, including recurrent c. diff., keep me from fixing my digestive problems. It's maddening, bankrupting, heartbreaking -- attach the negative adjective of your choice.
I'm sorry to read that you also live with intense pain.

- ENTERIC COATED PEPPERMINT pills / capsules can be very helpful to lessen nerve pain throughout body & also lessen muscle spasms. As a bonus, it may be helpful to address biofilm issues.
Best to start with just one - be sure the coating does not get compromised (swallow quickly) and in the middle a meal so it's not all alone in stomach - until you see how that works for you. Then move to in between meals.
There are likely many good professional articles on this. This has a long history of use to serve nerve pain in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Be sure the enteric coating is gluten-free, however.

- LDN also did nothing for me. Actually made things worse. I could not even get up to the full low dose. -
