I am currently treated for lyme and bartonella. I have no Babesia symptoms. But my LLMD wants me to start taking Artemesinin for babesia. He did a blood smear/die and says he saw babesia. I started Artimisinin a couple days ago - and that brought the night sweats I did not have before. Could that be a side effect of Artemisinin? Or the Artemisinin is bringing out babesia symptoms I did not have before? Should I stop? Anyone has experienced anything similar? Thanks

I had NO babesia symptoms (even though I had a positive test for babs through Igenex) until my doctor started treating me for it. Then, all hell broke loose. I got unbelievable babs symptoms.
So, "Yes" starting artemesinin or any treatment for babs can bring out babs symptoms.

I agree with TF.
Any treatment you do for something that exists, but that is not active, can trigger symptoms.
Example: treatment against bart may cause bart rashes.
Treatment against Bb, may trigger bull's eye rash or joint pain.
Treatment against babesia may trigger all babs symptoms.
I would still treat, because it seems like babesia is one of the layers of problems that will need treatment sooner or later.
Better you treat it while it's not causing too many problems than you wait until it causes awful symptoms...
That's just my opinion.

Agree.
It is NOT a side effect. It means you have Babs and are killing it.

I had some babesia symptoms that would surface and disappear for years. So your night sweats are babesia symptoms flaring.
Stick with it and get it eliminated.

Same here, treating babs awakens the beast. Much more so than Lyme.
In my experience, if you do have babesia, it's going to take more than artemisinin to clear it.
