I have been detoxing a lot lately and two days ago I took an Epson salt bath. I think I may have put too much salt in the water because the past two days the palm of my hands feel burnt and will not stop itching. anyone have any ideas on what to do? I cannot stop scrathing them and they feel so dry?

2 Cups Epsom salt 1 cup of baking soda
Sounds like your hands that were giving you so much problems in the past with swelling and pain....are trying to release some toxins.
The baking soda has a calming effect on the skin and makes it smooth. Also it is an antibacterial.
Many folks have detox reactions thru the hands and feet.

Make sure to rinse it all off very thoroughly.

- My skin will not tolerate ANY degree of epsom salts in a bath. Soaking also can really irritate any genital inflammation so keep that in mind if that's an issue. If you have dry skin, short gently warm but not too hot showers are best.
I suggest you use oral magnesium for now. When your skin heals, perhaps try a specially formulated magnesium oil / lotion starting out with just a tiny bit of skin to test it.
You could also try a tepid foot bath with epsom salts AFTER your skin has healed from what it is now. Again, be sure to rinse completely with clear water.
As heat can really hurt, and I do mean damage, some with lyme you might also do better avoiding even just warm baths for now. Summer can be grueling due to the heat stress.
The main help is to sweat so be sure to get a gentle sweat going in other ways.
And since you can cannot absorb enough magnesium from a bath to last throughout the day or reach maximum dose anyway, an oral magnesium might also work better outside of the bath.
Just find the form that works best for you. 3 x day, never all at once. -

- While some sweating (albeit from gentle heat not too harsh) is important to helping move gunk out of the body through the skin (and help with all the benefits of better circulation as well) . . . be sure your liver support is solid, too.
Magnesium helps the liver, true, and it is vital yet much more specific to the liver to make more glutathione (as a primo detox agent we can make right inside ourselves) is Milk Thistle is the top one to consider yet others listed here, too:
LIVER & KIDNEY SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too. -

some people are very sensitive to the sulfates/sulfites in epsom salt. Try a bath with magnesium flakes instead. Or baking soda. Or both.

thank you very much for these suggestions. I have stopped taking these baths as I am still suffering terribly with my hands itching constantly. I do not know what to put on them to stop this, anti itch cream has not helped at all. I think I am too sensitive for the Epson salt and I never rinsed afterwards, didn't know I was suppose too but this is the first time I have itchy hands and feet.
