A family member was bit by a tick two weeks ago in north western Colorado. He had a bullseye and flu like symptoms, and tested positive for Lyme. He tested negative for Rocky Mountain. All these tests were done at his local hospital.
He has been on antibiotics for two weeks, and things seem to be getting worse. Headaches and severe joint pain seem to be the main complaints.
What co-infections are common in that area? How soon should he feel better?

Ok - I'll be the first to respond. He's not going to feel better unless he is taking enough antibiotics. What amount of antibiotics is he on?
