I have never had a sleep study. Can I just request one from my regular doctor? I no longer see my LLMD due to them being out of state (I moved).

Did those symptoms start with your seroquel taper?
Maybe you tapered to quickly on that and/or other stuff?
I am finally off seroquel and ativan. It took forever. I am working on Klonipin. All I took only for sleep.
After that lamictal and lyrica. Based on what happens when I miss a dose of lamictal that one is going to be hard. Lyrica and lamictal I take throughout the day.
I am so done with all these rx's.

What i have never understood about sleep studies is how they get accurate brain readings when you are in a different environment and/or with things hooked up to you. I may mis-understand how a sleep study is done.
My LLMD tried to use a Fitbit to get a basic sleep "thing". I know not the most accurate. Anyway I couldn't even sleep with that on my wrist.

Your PCP should be able to order an overnight oximeter. It will usually show if your oxygen drops during the night.
I have had a CPAP a little over a year now. I LOVE the results and I therefore do NOT mind the mask. Mine is the kind that just fits into the nose.
I FEEL wonderful most of the time!
AS for the study, they DO allow you to take a sleeping pill that night. I did have trouble sleeping, but they got good readings on the 4-5 hours I slept.

I have been looking into this because my adult son has long-term sleeping issues.
He recently did an in-home sleep study (son's LLMD prescribed it and a disposable kit was sent to our house) since his irregular sleep patterns precluded him from going to a sleep center and staying overnight for testing. He had to refrain from taking any meds or supplements which would affect the test results a day before, I think.
It was conducted by a Nurse Practitioner specializing in sleep study who is part of the clinic network our LLMD is in. I don't know if you can just ask your regular doctor to prescribe it, however. You would have to ask him/her.
I have also looked into a homeopathic product called Calms Forte which can be taken alongside medication and will not affect it from what I've read. It got very good reviews (fyi - my son has not tried it yet).

I have had sleep problems for 30 years. I cant stay asleep. The past 2 years I have averaged 4 hours a night.
LLMD has tried to solve this with various meds although for some reason he refuses to use stuff like ambien.
Anyway this may be total coincidence but I started taking my zyrtec and pepcid at the time I turn off my light. I cant remember why I changed - it had nothing to do with sleep. I get a solid 5 hours now. I may be able to get more but my new puppy wakes me up. Sigh...
My riding instructor also uses zyrtec for sleep.
My room is a cave. As dark as I can get it and the only sound is a fan.

Zyrtec does help. I take it twice a day, but if I take more at night I get restless legs.

Have you tried 5htp? I've found that helps to stay asleep. I don't have trouble falling asleep.
A side note: my Hubby found taking CBD oil helped to cut the withdrawal symptoms a lot when coming off Ativan. Don't know if it would help with others or not.

I take edible form of marijuana (Indica, which induces calmness and restfulness) at bedtime and it usually will help me to get a good 5-6 hour stretch of sleep in before I awaken in the wee hours.
When I take this, I usually feel rested the next morning. I would love to be able to sleep through the night on my own, but when I skip a dose, I seem to be up several times throughout the night.
