Hi folks, lorng time Lyme Warrior here. The shortversion is that I've had "IT" for decades but improved greatly with treatment. A recent stroke-like event let to an MRI and lots of consultations, most recently with a neurologist. He looked at my scan very carefully and announced "These findingsareconsistent with Lyme Disease." There is very little medical information out there, even in mainstream medicine on how to proceed with these findingswhen the patient isn't already dead. Any informed feedback will be welcome and appreciated.

I would love to know what specifically spoke "Lyme Disease" on an MRI. But good for you to find a neurologist that even had Lyme in his wheelhouse for a differential diagnosis!
Your question is going to unleash a myriad of answers from taking lots of antibiotics for a long time. No! Just use only herbals! No, use homeopathic only. It's parasites! You have to do a parasite cleanse. No. You need to spend $20,000 with a biological dentist and have all of the mercury fillings removed.
So I will warn you that I have a similar biased suggestion. Mild hyperbaric oxygen treatment. There is a very long thread below this one. I would encourage you to peruse it.
I have done antibiotics multiple times involving PICC lines and a port. I would get better only to relapse. I tried herbals and found them harder than antibiotics. My son tried homeopathies to find them a waste of time and money. The relapsing was always so discouraging. So I bought a chamber and have had an increase in health enough to be a cut flower farmer for three years.
Research is limited on mild hyperbaric oxygen treatment. Most is done of deep/commercial dives. That is where the money is. But, mHBO (mild) has very positive effects on the brain and the neuro system. It decreases inflammation. It modifies the immune system to decrease the expression of th17 which causes a lot of our immune symptoms. It does lots more than I list here.
I have had Lyme long enough that it has an autoimmune component to it. mHBO also helps with that.
I would encourage you to read the mHBO treatment thread. Using mHBO is not speedy. It is a process. It is a marathon not a sprint. But you will feel improvement along the way. And I have yet to have huge relapses like I did with antibiotics.
There is hope. You can get better.

I just saw the title to this post. If that is what the physician is seeing on the MRI then mHBO will increase circulation to that area. imo

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Here is a bit more information. Over the decades I have taken TONS of antibiotics, which brought about an almost complete recovery. Even with all of this now, I am up and walking my dog a couple of miles per day, doing errands, playing guitar nad piano, relearning algebra, working on vintage FIAT car, going to meets, etc.. I am retired but am doing guest lectures. However, haiving an MRI that looks like I have had six strokes is concerning. The neurologist seemed to be astonished. At this poing, my goal is to arrest any progression.

Totally hear you. I am retired as well. Which is why I get in mHBO frequently.
Forgive, I do not mean to offend by asking this quesiton. But did you take the Covid vaccine?

I have taken the available COVID vaccines and don't have any suspicion of them causing my problems. I had severe neurological symptoms as early as 2000.

OK. You might want to ask for a D-Dimer test.

"Mild" hyperbaric (mHBOT) is lower pressure than HBOT. mHBOT is 1.5 ATA (atmospheres absolute) or below, "HBOT" is anything above 1.5 ATA.
I second what kgg has posted here. Please refer to the mild hyperbaric thread and read it from the beginning. There is 10+ years worth of information imbedded in that thread.
I have been 100% well for 10 years now, thanks to mHBOT, and my case was severe. Feel free to PM me if you have specific questions, and/or post on the mild hyperbaric thread.
