Well, there's AIDS, or any other blood borne disease if the tatoo parlor isn't a really CLEAN one.

Hepatitis...don't know which brand - but any hep ain't good.

Don't you already have enough illnesses?

How about them rub on tattoos? You could change them up depending on your mood...maybe even wash 'em off for all your formal occasions?

I think writing all over your body with a permanent marker would be safer. I really like Sharpies - they come in a variety of colors and are just delightful.

Good luck.

You need to make sure all of the needles used are new--each time( buy your own sets), as well as the pigments used in the process

Even if you do use a new needle in pigment that was used on someone esle( this is still the most common pratice)---the pigment could have been contaimated by a tiny drop of blood or fluid from the previous customer---which exposes you to what-ever that previous customer could be carrying (no, it doesn't die-off in the dyeloads--like some tattooers' tell you)

If that pigment has been used on several customers', well, if any of their bodily fluids made it into the pigments, and they have something( oh, like Hep. C, or HIV) you could be open to those infections

Check out the faculity where you are planning to go, and check into their rules and pratices requiring this concern

IMO: With an immune deficientcy, I'd skip it for now, till you have the Titers where they belong.

Bet your immunilogist would have a sh*t fit over this!!!

I got two tattoos as a teen. One on my arm that I would like to eventually get removed and one on my neck that I love.

I probably had Lyme when I got both of these but not sure.

Never had any problems. Did hurt more than I thought, though.

I think you will be fine as long as you go to a reputable tattoo parlor.

With my generation and the generation after (my sister's), tattoos and/or piercings are very common.

Actually, piercings were not big until after I was in my early 20's.

I still have friends in their mid to late 20's getting tattoos.

I have nothing against tattoos, but, there are issues with the immune system when a person has Lyme disease....that would be my biggest concern.

Your 'opening yourself' up to infection...even if everything is as sterile as a hospital operating room at the tattoo parlour.

Just my opinion...Good Luck

One of my professors did cadaver studies of tatooes...

She found scarring and ink in every case extended through the skin into organ and bone tissue....

That's enough for me.... But if that's not enough for you. it's your body, treat it as you wish....
