Hi Heather
some years back I was on the Zithro / Mepron combo. It can be a wicked combo. I was getting horrid vertigo when I was on it but stuck it out 3 months.
I was then in Zithro for almost 3 yrs non stop until finding out that Zithro is a major yeast promoter...
Good luck to hubby..

Hey woman -

I replied to your other post...

I have been on the Mepron/Zith combo for quite awhile now - probably 6 months or so.

I feel like total s##t, but at least it's not giving the the runny s##ts like your dear hubby!

For me - the MEPRON is the evil one! It can really send me thru the wringer.

I've had Lyme for say...25-30 years and I'm not even 40...not that that matters, I just want to hijack this part of your thread to let EVERYONE to know how young I am - despite wisdom just literally oozing from me all the time. I'm a young chic!

Anyhoo - I can only tolerate 2 DROPS from a dropper of Mepron as anything more makes me herx far too much. This, of course, tells me that my spirochete/babs load is rather high and that my body does not deal well with toxins. Yeah! Knowledge.

When I hear of other people taking TEASPOON doses of Mepron - I cringe! It just sounds so alien to me - like YOUR docs are OVERDOSING YOU! BUT -- the last time I went to my LLMD he had mentioned that I'm on the @#$% PEDIATRIC dose of Mepron. (See? I TOLD you I am YOUNG!)

AND at $750/bottle - at least MY bottle of the liquid gold puke-maker will last longer! HA!

Just wanted you to consider that Zith may not be the most evil culprit in the Zith/Mepron dastardly duo...

Stock up on really soft toilet paper and hemmorhoid creme, and always check your shoes!

Bathroom 2

Hugs,

The LLMD said to stop until the diarhea stops. Then slowly ramp up.

We'll see if he can tolerate this combo.

My 120 lb 19 year old begins mepron, zith and ceftin in two days.

(I will be reading this thread and forwarding it to him at school).

A year ago his brother was on mepron only (wrong, I now know) for just 6 weeks and he was directed to ramp up to the full dose.

The new llmd wants my son to jump right into full dosages of each.

I knid of pressed for babs treatment because of his mono-like fatigue and anorexia symptoms. (Guess we will see).

Wish lyme co-infections were more black and white - not gray.
