Anyone ever try Amphotericin B oral capsules, Nystatin and Dyflucan for yeast/mold (systemic) at the same time. Dr. Cranton claims this works if used for 4 months.

I would think treating the Lyme would solve the yeast problem as the bacterial pathogens are the underlying culprit.

I am asking because I know I have some yeast (haven't done abx in a while) but I am ready to go back on pulsed minocin and am not sure whether I should do a course of antifungals first.

I know I herxed on just amphoterin B capsules last year.

Thanks for any input.

Chris

I never have heard of the ampho B .. can you get it at a health food store??

I still use Nystatin and diflucan since my gut is still not rid of the yeast. Haven't been on abx since last sept.

The most important thing is DIET.

Candida diet and elimination:

http://www.wholeapproach.com/diet/
Lyme symptoms list compared with yeast symptoms
http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/021202.html

"Successful control and elminiation of a Candida Albicans overgrowth requires a multifaceted program as described below. Failure to follow ALL the steps simultaneously will result in slow progress and will lengthen healing time significantly. The program should be tailored to the individual and must balance the need to eliminate the Candida and deprive it of its food source while insuring proper nutrition for the individual."

Five Steps to Candida Elimination:

1. You must starve it into submission by eliminating its food source.

2. You must kill it with anti-fungal herbs and supplements. [e.g....garlic, onion, caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco capsules or tea, clove, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, tea tree oil, Echinacea, Goldenseal, black walnut, MSM, barberry root, uva ursi, neem leaf, biotin]

3. You must reestablish the proper balance and quantity of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract. [...multi-strain lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus capsules with FOS should be taken between meals to maximize repopulation of the digestive tract by beneficial bacteria.]

4. You must reestablish proper levels of all B vitamins (yeast free) and utilize other immune enhancing supplements to boost immune system function. [e.g ... B complex vitamins (yeast free), biotin, beta 1-3 glucan, colostrum, maitake mushroom, vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium]

5. You must cleanse and heal the digestive tract to promote proper elimination of toxins and Candida and assimilation of nutrients. [e.g...chlorophyll, MSM, omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seed and salmon oils, GLA found in borage, evening primrose and black currant oils. Pantothenic acid, digestive enzymes between meals]

Let us know if it works for you!

Nystatin doesn't impact the liver as much and I have done that and ABX togeather.

I think only your LLMD could answer the question as to whether to go after the yeast first or last. Or hit both the lyme and the yeast togeather.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful and hope you can feel better soon

The combination seems extreme to me and likely unnecessary for many plus hard on the liver. I would be using Freeze Dried Garlic with maybe one of those options, but not all of those.

Ampho B oral caps and Nystatin both are not absorbed and therefore they don't pose much of a problem. Diflucan is the only bad boy in the bunch. Yeast bulds resistance to Garlic pretty quickly. It doesn't do much by itself, and I have found that combination herbs won't do it either. At least that's been my experience. They do help, but they won't cure it even with a good diet. The kind of Candida or Yeast that you get with long term abx therapy is DEEP seated. It's not easy to get rid of no matter what you use. And using Diflucan while on abx is only a band aid solution.

I have recently statrted drinkng Kefir. I think that really replaces the good bacteria in your gut. It is a live, cultured food. I make my own. Store bought is not as good from what I have read.

Tastes great in my protein shakes and VERY easy to prepare.

I have been on Diflucn for 2 months .....yesterday was the last day. So now the real test to see if the yeast comes back. I hope not.

I also eat a clean diet.

If you search Kefir on this site you will find a fair amount of discussion.

The only way to permanently reduce the yeast load is to get rid of heavy metals. Heavy metals cause the body to cultivate more and more yeast - that are creating another neurotoxin for on top of all the others the body is already battling.
Get rid of the metals. Then the cells will start to breath again. Metals cause cell death.

Here in Dr. K.'s words - published many years ago - and it is even more true today because we are faced with even more contaminants than ten years ago:

"Most, if not all chronic diseases are not caused by a failure of the immune system, but are a conscious adaptation of the immune system to an otherwise lethal heavy metal environment.

Mercury suffocates the intracellular respiratory mechanism and can cause cell death. So, the immune system makes a deal: it cultivates fungi and bacteria that can bind large amounts of toxic metals.

The gain: the cells can breathe.

The cost: the system has to provide nutrition for the microorganisms and has to deal with their metabolic products ("toxins").

That does not imply that the tolerated guests cannot grow out of control, as it sometimes clearly does.

Therefore, there is still a limited place for antifungal/antibacterial treatment - but only for the acute phase of the disease. A so-called "die-off effect" (the sometimes severe crisis or even lethal reaction a patient can have in the initial stages of aggressive pharmaceutical antifungal or antibacterial treatment) is often nothing else but acute heavy metal toxicity -- metals released from the cell walls of dying microorganisms as suggested by my own correlation of clinical syndromes and urinalysis for metals."

I think I have posted the full publication here before. It goes into much detail and can also be found on the internet under "Amalgam/Mercury Detox as a Treatment for Chronic Viral, Bacterial, and Fungal Illnesses"
Copyright 1997 by Dietrich Klinghardt, MD, PhD.

Take care. As if I hadn't said that before!!!! But somehow I have the feeling whatever I post falls on deaf ears. I just returned from a visit at the clinic - exactly what I talked above was taking place and I was invited to observe.

Severely ill patients, every one of them also had Lyme, and every one of them was heavy metal and chemical toxic. Can't forget the parasites. What was treated right then and there before my eyes: Injections and neural therapy in an attempt to push the heavy metals out. Not a thing about abx at that moment, because as long as the metals load is heavy, abx cannot be fully effective.

Knowing that most don't like to read this, I am bumping it up anyhow. There is simply no way around it, no matter how hard we try

Take care.

Does psyllium soak up any of the metals GiGi?

What about a head of broccoli.

Chorella makes me toooo gasssy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Psyllium fits right,now.

Also, I have been tasting this metal taste for years. Most of my amalgams are out, though not in the best of ways. However the metal taste happened with:

Biaxin-------------

when I was off the Biaxin I would STILL get it when.

I took,

Diflucan-------really bad

when I

Dont eat for about 8 hours.

Also now when I......eat steamed organic broccoli.
Afterwards I have this terrible metal taste in my mouth.

SO what is going on? Is this the metal I am tasting?

The psyllium seems to make it go away so Im guessing that its soaking some up.

Would DSM be good? My LLMD wants me to just take anti-fungals now and do a stool specimen test through Doctors Data.

I just started slivers of Nystatin and I gave me a metal taste. I had a terrible herx the first two days. Now Im feeling BETTER.

I dont know whats worse, the mercury toxins or the yeast.

My health declined years ago when I had 5 amalgams placed within 2 weeks. Uhh!!! What an A-hole. For this I practice forgiveness first.

Ok, someone please chime in. Im at the cross in the road. 28 going on 29 and feel like crap since I was 14.

Had only a couple of good years..... It must have been the cannabis. Now I think I have mold in my sinuses because of it. Uhh what a life we made.......

Read where psyllium helps remove metals somewhere.
Don't remember.

First time taking the stuff. I even have memory trouble again. (It was better). Now, afraid to take it again.

Husband don't want me to. I guess I'll try cutting it in half or forths.

Hi All

Like others have said -Diet is Most Important--

You have to starve candida of carbs-

This is what I eat for dinner tonight -
1 greasy sausage- 1 avocado(mepron absorb )
a bunch of broccoli-
some green enchilada sauce -

and 8 oz of vanilla yogurt -

Tastes good -Low carb-

I dont have candida problems anymore-
but I still eat low carb most of the time-

as my Lyme symptoms lessened
so have candida problems -

I had candida as bad as it gets for
over 5 years-

Took 3 years of Zero Carb diet to get it
under control--plus Nystatin Powder-

Now I can eat cake-candy -whatever
as long as I do so in moderation--

Your body has candida for a reason-
a underlaying Illness --

AND - OR

ABX -
Toxins-(metals-poisons ect)
BC pills-
Very PooR diet -

Illness(Lyme- Babs) is what caused
my candida as is the case for most
of us here --

Hope this helps--Jay--

Lymeherx -- you might do better on the non-broken cell wall form of chlorella. That is what I am using right now (source naturals brand). Recently I slowly began to add in the broken cell-wall form (just one small tablet per day) and I seem to be tolerating it better.

Yes but isint the non-broken kind of chorella just a scam?

Isint that why they breakt the wall so we can absorb it?

Not sure about that exactly... but I do know this: When I take the non-broken cell wall kind, I feel better. It is not overt but kind of a subtle feeling. So maybe one might argue placebo?

And yet when my daughter took the same kind, she felt sick to her stomach. This happened on three occassions and we had to switch to a mixed green powder. So I don't think that was a placebo effect.

Still... I do think the broken cell wall form is more powerful.
