tinny or flagyl Plus a good abx at the same time.

The tinny or flagyl get the cysts the abx gets the bug.

Hey Scott, I have been fighting giardia throughout my whole treatment of lyme over the last 20 months. Energenically I have been as high as 6 and as low as 2. I don't think I will get this killed off until I am off abx completely and my gut is 100% again. Tini really worked to knock the bug down when it was in its high area but I only did short run on this stuff due to the side effects of the drug, but it really stopped the colon noises gurgling that this bug made in my gut.

Also Trycycline helps along with some phyto art. Alinia also brought it down while I was treating crypto. Neem oil also has helped. I have also been using Candida clear by "NOW", this has PauD"Arco, Oregano Oil, Black Walnut and caprylic acid in it, this stuff has kepted at a 2 for the last month.

Thanks all. Sadly, I've done Tini, Alinia, and numerous other natural things that have not gotten rid of it. If I do standard local lab testing, Doctor's Data, or Genova for example, it has not so far shown up. However, I recently did a test from a visiting doctor in Nigeria, and it showed up as the only parasite that was identified. Discouraging that it was still there after so many Lyme-related treatments that should have dealt with it (like 2 months of Tini for example).

Have you tried the tests from Diagnose Techs? They are suppose to be good at finding hard to find problems. It's a combination stool and salive test. Giardia is a tough one to find on a stool only test.

You're only a failure when you stop trying.

Scott,
I was thought to have had guardia. but it turned out to be allergies to wheat, oats, barley, rye, etc...and i just started on a gluten-free diet (yuck) - but am managing...and that was determined through a complete GI panel of both stool and saliva...

To answer your question though since you are already diagnosed with it...I worked with Romark Laboratories (romark.com) for patient financial assistance to obtain alinia since i have no insurance...but what i'm getting at is there may be information on their site about Alinia as the treatment for guardia...

so maybe scroll the website and see if there is any other information, ie., other medications for that in addition to alina, or do as i do send an email to the company and ask for information as i did about alinia..they were very helpful..

i don't know if this helps....

Hi Scott,

Sorry to hear you have this beast.
Flagyl worked for me for 4 weeks at high doses. I also took Para-Gard from Tyler encapsulations.
I didnt test positive through Genova Diagnostics, but through a regular hospital stool sample. I also got c.difficile toxins A & B too. Lovely, right?

Do you have a good GI doctor who is helping you through this? I hope you feel better...it does take time for the lower half to feel normal again after a bout with Giardia. Hang in there [Smile]

Fortunately, I don't feel symptomatic from it. So, I just need to work through it. We all have numerous infections that are involved in our health I believe. Just another one to work out... [Smile]

I have done Biltricide as well. I will be discussing this with my doctors in the next few weeks and then decide the best course of action.

Thanks all

Be well,
Scott
