My wife has had a PICC line in for 3 weeks now and is developing some pain/ache/tenderness around the PICC line entrance site. The pain is not serious and there isn't any redness or discoloration around the area. Anyone else had this? I think it is probably just the body trying to close up the open wound that is causing it, but am looking for your opinions.

I've had my picc in since September.

Same thing for me in the beginning.

My dr. pulled out the line about 2cm or so. So that the little ridge at the end (forget the term) didn't keep irritating the site.

The thought of it being pulled out freaked me out a bit. But it's no big deal. Now it's out about three inches. The line is much thinner at that point and the skin can heal around it better.

mine hurt for about 6 weeks there. It went away.

now mine hurts at my heart. Hope it goes away
